The first few pages of this book are making me feel something. A very physical tremble from the chest. Oh my god

‘Quinabuangan’. This is a place in Zambales where the author spent his early childhood (3-12 yrs old). I thought it was gonna be funny purely because “buang” in Bikol is “baliw”/“crazy”. Turns out, this essay is just a sincere homage to one’s hometown, no jokey stuff about being insane

In this second story, ‘In the Line of Work’, the M’Sian Communist Party appears as a well-meaning entity that crafts career development programs for its members that are actually effective and also considerate of their current place in life

‘Mysterious Night.’ AMAZING! Maybe its my background too but I love this story. There’s a lot going on, much to appreciate. The most interesting ideas its got are the ones it represents in the action and the writing, rather than the ones it discusses outright. I loved the way it writes nature, it echoes the core idea of ‘the Guerilla is like a Poet’
