Holy shit, I fear this might be the best volume yet. I’m completely invested and now the waiting starts…

My issue with the manhua adaptation is, that it’s so confusing. If you didn’t read the novel you wouldn’t understand a lot of things. Important plot points get rushed, volumes cut off at very random points and on top of that, though the art is very pretty, the only way to tell people apart is by their clan uniform, so when you have a lot of characters in one scene it’s really difficult to tell who’s who.

Forgot to update this. I’m very confused now, is Shi Mei bad is he not, I guess he kind of is but not as bad as Hua Binan. Bros just taking advantage of Shi Mei. Loved him stepping up and helping Wanning though. There’s definitely more pain and suffering to come and I’m not ready.

So far it feels like WFMAS but without the existential dread and depression(kinda), I LOVE IT. Also why does the dad not seem THAT bad… probably just cuz it’s hard to top Yu Fans dad and I barely know this dude. Anyways Gu Miao is a legend!

Though I didn’t love a part around the 75% mark, I didn’t think it was an unreasonable situation so I’m not mad.
Overall really enjoyed this!

Omg that last chapter was everything!! Glad I trusted the people who said it gets better cuz it truly does. Every volume just gets better and better and I officially love this now!

So, I love Oshimi and I love this series but especially in Inside Mari he is SO explicit with the se*ual themes. It lowkey makes me a little uncomfy at certain parts. And his author notes at the end are very much TMI. I get why he’s adding them but I can’t help but feel that it’s none of my business 😭

The beginning was so strong but the ending was underwhelming. Nothing really gets explained or makes sense either.

I was gonna give this 5 stars until I realized that the actual book ends at page 130 and the rest is some weird one shot that has nothing to do with this. With the price crunchy charges for this, I’m kinda pissed.

I put off continuing this for the longest time, cuz I don’t remember anything anymore but surprisingly it’s going well so far. Still probably need to reread this eventually.
