Wait, I'm supposed to start liking this guy because he's giving Lockhart from Harry Potter

I'm going to keep trying, but this is starting to feel unnecessarily wordy. Like almost every sentence has like 3 words added to it. I feel like she was trying to go for a vibe, but really, it almost feels like she was trying to reach a word count.

So I learned that this is a first in a series but not the first in this universe. Hopefully, that's not too important because I don't plan on reading the other series

I don't know anything about this. I bought it forever ago for about 4 bucks, and Austin wanted to go fishing for his birthday, so I wasn't going to bring a nice book to the pier, so I'm finally going to give it a try

I need this world to start explaining how it works more There's mushroom air conditioning, glow worm lanterns, giant sea walls that keep out leviathans, and crackle-men that have been grafted to grow more muscle and have extra bones added to their body and the main character has tiny beasts that swim in his brain so he can't forget anything and much more it's a lot and it's very much a book you just go with it

So far, it's giving sherlock homes set in a fantasy worlds

Back up, the rich people wear kilts so they don't have to leave the party to piss they piss in some plants and then make slaves clean it up, yall nasty

Yup, dnf this book is not for me he called her a creature, his victim, and his prey all within like 2 pages after he broke into her room was being an absolute weirdo. To be honest, I was trying to be better about my dnfs this year and pushed on when I should have dnfed when the main character caught a different creepy guy sucking on a dead girl's breast.

I'm really trying to like this because the world building is cool, the characters are mostly interesting and I like the magic system in this, but it feels like every time I really start getting into it, they throw some weird shit at me

It's always on me because I skipped the trigger warning, but damn this was darker than I thought it was going to be

To be honest, if I wasn't so close to the end, I would dnf this but might as well get one more read in for 2025

Maybe it's just me, but like nobody is questioning why monsters keep ending up on the same ship, even if some of them were decades apart...

Alright it's growing on me

the plot is fun. monsters in space murdering humans on a spaceship and the concept of the main character being the spaceship's A.I. is unique. But it makes the action boring like beside killing their passengers like the ship is just like watching things happen and like there's not really a threat to it. Idk I'm giving it a little more, but I might dnf

It's been a hot minute since I read from a book where the main character is like my age

My last 2 books were pretty depressing, sooo I'm going cozy

I'm returning this early back to the library and putting this on pause. I can tell I'm going to love it, but december is just too busy to give it the attention it deserves. Maybe I'll check it back out in January

We'll see how this goes, not my normal type of book, but it's set in St. Augustine, so I had to check it out

My one complaint is that in the first 2 books, I found the romance being putting on the back burner to be a nice change of pace, but now, in the 3rd book, it lowkey sometimes just feel like Adam is just there like sometimes I forget he there and I feel rune doesn't care for him as much as Adam cares for them I hope that's changes.

Possible hot take, I like the sisters, except for Holly. She is so damn annoying. I hope she gets eaten
