There's a character named Merriman, first time seeing my name in a book. But also, I lowkey think he might be a bad guy can't tell yet.

I don't know why we keep talking to this man he gives me weird vibes, and he's hundreds of years old, but still doesn't understand the word no. This better not go the way I think it might.

I just want to say props to Hugh Howey for writing Jules well like she is my favorite out of the povs you follow, and she is intelligent she is angry, she is a little petty I love it. If more male authors wrote women like this, I think women would talk less crap about male authors.

This is my second Adrian Tchaikovsky book, and I think his writing isn't for me. The concept of both books are really unique and interesting, but they lowkey feel like textbooks, even the action parts. I'm going to try and keep going because at this point, I'm invested, but we'll see if I make it to the end.

It might be the guardians of the galaxy vol 3 ptsd I have but it might be too soon (yes I know the movie came out like 3 years ago) for me to be reading about a lab experiment racoon. I feel the trauma brewing.

I was going to go back to Dungeon Crawler carl, but Austin really wants to watch the tv show, and I said I wanted to read the book first 😪

For being such a short book, I'm finding this to be very slow and a bit dry.

I hope this picks up. I found the beginning good, and I'm interested in the story, but I'm a bit bored. I'm pretty sure I know at least one plot twist if not two. I hope that when the trial starts, it picks back up.

I don't trust the husband, but I can't tell if it's rooted in anything or it because I don't like him.

So this is giving the vibe of like how in Star Trek if they found a planet that wasn't as technology advanced they would like observe them. But instead of being from the star trek pov it's from the other's pov. Idk I could be wrong but that's what's its feeling like

The struggle I went through to get this book. I put it on hold in June. In July, it said it was on its way for me to pick it up. After waiting patiently for 12 days, I decided to call, and the library told me they would look into it. They called back and they couldn't find it and that library it came from can't find it. I then had to wait for the one and only copy in all of Volusia County. But finally, I have it.

Dnf I know I'm picky, but I just don't like the writing, and I don't understand how you give these robots have thoughts and feelings one chapter, but in the next chapter, they only think how they are programed. I get the robots wanting to open a restaurant and belong in the neighborhood to be a metaphor to immigrants coming to America. But in a time of AI taking peoples jobs, it's hard to be mad at the humans in this

I like cozy books, but this is too cozy, and everything felt a bit flat, and idk how to put it. But I don't get how you have a dream to open a coffee shop and then only put 2 things on the menu black coffee or a latte and sure by the end they'll have more but you've been dreaming of this and you never thought about anything else to add to it. I was bored, and if I had to read the words bean water one more time.

This might be a tiny bit too cozy for me
