Why is Juliette hiding things in her own narration/why is there crossed out text? Is the crossed out stuff all of the things she doesn’t want to think about? Like sometimes it makes sense and sometimes it’s just a tad bit annoying. I saw it when flipping through the book and it might go away later on. But why is it there in the first place?

Anyway, Adam, why did you like immediately push the beds together? :/

Live laugh love Apollo

Camp Half Blood is so casual about the entire getting attacked thing and they’re so real for it.

I agree with Apollo. Nero is a slimy, ugly human being.

Ok but like…Nero’s totally been super abusive to Meg. Isn’t separating the “abuser” from your “loved one” a sign of abuse? I hate Nero sm

I THINK I GET IT?

Like Okonkwo was meant to represent African/Igbo culture. He flourished in it in the story. The white man kept pushing and pushing until he killed himself. He was the main proponent against European culture, and now that he’s gone, we have a good idea of what happens.

Idk there’s prolly more here, but that’s my thoughts.

Lester is both egotistical and hilarious. I don’t know if I should love him or hate him.

A beautiful end to a beautiful series. I didn’t crashout like I did with the other books, though.

The POV (idk whether to call it 3rd Limited or Omniscient) is perfect in that ending. You see where every character ended up. You see how the world moved on. (Scythe Goddard is dead!)

I can’t recommend this series enough. It’s such a unique dystopia. I can’t wait to read Shusterman’s other work!

Live laugh hate Scythe Goddard. Also wondering what Cirrus looks like.

Will there be a fourth genocide in this book?

I don’t know how to feel about that. It makes me vaguely uncomfortable. Like what? The Thunderhead just stole Jeri’s autonomy?????? Or?

THERES GOING TO BE ANOTHER GENOCIDE???? THE TONISTS NEED TO RUN. WHAT DOES GODDARD HAVE AGAINST THOSE GUYS???? (I do realize that this is prolly just Goddard pulling a dictator and placing blame on a minority. Especially a minority that is already disliked among the general population.)

I’ve noticed something about this section of the book (Year of the Cobra). The only little blurb from a journal/character/testament of the tone/interaction is at the beginning of it. Looking ahead to the end of the section, they are noticeably absent. Last time this happened, bad things came, so now I’m scared.

Also, Greyson is getting very powerful. He hates it so much it’s funny.

That’s not what bias means, Scythe Goddard.

Chapter 17 is interesting. I don’t quite know what to make of it.

GREYSON WATCH OUT

So Scythe Faraday has moved into his depression arc. He’s a grouch now. He also definitely doesn’t have a favorite child (It’s Citra).

As much as that is 100% Scythe Rand’s fault (and I still don’t like her for it), it made me tear up a little? I’m glad she regrets it. She deserves it.

Also, Greyson is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters. “I tell people what the Thunderhead says, except for when I don’t.” He’s such a silly guy. Who is also now a cult leader. He’s great.

Scythe Faraday is a legend among men. Always slaying, even when the love of his life is permanently dead.

ALSO ROWAN DID NO SUCH THING. HES (mostly) INNOCENT!

I hate the opening letter. Goddard sucks.

Everyone is depressed. At least some people are able to do things.

I-I have no words. That’s going in the history books.

Correction: I do have words. Very many words and all of them are pointed at Scythe Goddard. But…they’re not exactly civil or kind. So I won’t say them at all.

Rowan ragebaiting Goddard will never not be funny. Seriously, he managed to pull it off for 3 months, which might have kept him alive for longer.

Also, “this body seems to enjoy splatting.” I. Hate. Goddard. We need another fire. Or that acid trick the new order tried to pull on Scythes Curie and Anastasia.

I’m glad Anastasia was able to prevent that fiasco.

This book’s world building is so interesting. Humanity has gone beyond the point of mortality, but somehow manages to be hopelessly fascinated by it. The Thunderhead knows of most human activity, but is unable to stop the poor decisions made by the Scythedom. It really feels like another world. Or a very distant future.
