stopping here and probably won’t continue. it’s not terrible, but it’s only mentioned men thus far; I understand that there are differences in the availability of historical information for most subjects, but I think any book about magic that isn’t at least 50% about women is doing a poor job. this was still a decent follow up to Harry Potter, which I finished last week🤙

a doozy so far

I don’t think I’m going to make it through the rest of this audiobook. I’m rather surprised that I’m not hooked on a novel about gay Scottish witches read in a lovely accent. If I had to pinpoint what’s giving me pause, it would be that this is the type of feminism I actually find disempowering. The only personality these women are given is in the context of their trauma and oppression.

So far, this book is what I imagine what would result if my high school physics teacher collabed with Dan povenmire and Jeff “swampy” marsh to explain the mysteries of physics.
