This is my third read of this and it's hilarious knowing this is all an elaborate show. What's more diabolical is that Brann JUST died and this girl is ogling Caelum while fighting for her life. Girl, priorities 🤣

I've not been obsessed with a series like this in a very long time. There's a couple things I didn't pick up on in the anime:

1. Was Jinshi trying to counter the effects of the eunuch meds with the aphrodisiac?

2. Did he fall that fast where he wanted to be in the room alone with Maomao when he ate it?! My guy...

It's crazy to me how the monster so eloquently and casually admitted to murdering a child and framing an innocent woman and then demanded a partner be made from him

I feel so bad for this creature! Did he commit wrong? Yes. And it was absolutely because of Victor's negligence. Yet I'm a bit conflicted because the creature clearly knows right from wrong...

There's so much Christian allegory in here, its amazing. I can see that the lack of accountability on Victor's behalf will be an infuriating reoccurrence throughout. I'm recording my thoughts as I go but I'm so happy to be reading this over all!
