I LOVE the book going into the details of playing D&D, the one time I almost played, I got too overwhelmed looking at a character sheet... and the performance part makes me anxious, but I want to play!!!

Also Riley being surprised at her dad always being so supportive of her love for theater and music, and it's just your dad is a nerd who loves D&D & board games, of course he understands her loving theater!!!

I've been missing reading a fandom romance for awhile, my earlier plan was "Two Can Play" by Ali Hazelwood, and then a friend read it and said it was not worth it, and lent me this one instead!!!

Also work is work, but the guy is so right that as work goes working in a game shop would be wanted by a lot of people... sales is not an easy job, but working surrounded by things you love makes things easier!!!

This last chapter tied so well to the movie, mostly because I've never had any thoughts on Antinous - I don't even know if particularly remembered him when I read this the first time... but now having seen the movie, he's prominent in my mind, which made it so much better... and the writing is just so GOOD!!!

As it has now been clear, I watched the Odyssey, and I'm just rereading things... I was a bit disappointed with some of the writing choices with Penelope, so I'm coming back to one of my favorite books!!! And reminded how much I LOVE the writing here!!! The structure here, with Penelope and the maids speaking directly to us from the after life!!!

This adaptation is told in a linear way, which makes sense when it's for children to read, but now I realized this made them mess up the timeline. I don't remember what they're doing with Calypso here, but we're at the time before and they're saying 18 years, which is very wrong!!!

I didn't remember what had happened, but I was right on feeling the jump from Calypso to Ithaca was too fast!!!

You can guess which movie I just watched in theaters!!! I'm rereading both adaptations I own, and I want at some point to reread the proper Odyssey - with a better edition than I originally read, honestly would love to do a tandem read of Frederico Lourenço Portuguese translation and Emily Wilson English translation!!!

Part 2 is already so much better than part 1, the writing is better... the first part just felt weird, a mix of childlike while them being a married couple (also introducing our main teen boy character with a wife, I knew what was going to happen, and I wasn't up for it!!!)

I LOVE Katrina and Reese's relationship so much!!! I really like how they're developing their dynamic, feelings and the sense of motherhood with one another!!!

For some reason I always thought Daphne Du Maurier was much older than she actually is!!!

Having read ahead makes it interesting to know which relationships still matter 30 years ahead!!!

I went to visit the Maia BD expo today, and right next to it there was a book fair going on - could I resist buying a book? No, I could not… to be fair this has been on my list for awhile and I didn’t want to buy it in a chain bookstore. Luckily I packed my bag, with having space to buy books in mind 🙈🙈 And I started this immediately on the metro back to Porto!!!

The tension in this book is insane!!! The description of her standing in the middle of her living room, waiting for a move a moment, the beauty of touch and wanting one another!!! This was so incredibly good!!! This romance is insane, people!!!

Katrina went looking for Reese because she supposedly outed Ames, but now Reese just gives away his dead name...

I really like how this book, without saying, is very much exploring the need for intersectionality in feminism - how certain problems aren't isolated... you can have different experiences that are still the same at the same time

I’m so pleasantly surprised by this book!!! I was intrigued by the synopsis, but the first reviews here made me doubtful, but now I’m really enjoying the writing and character work!!!

I read one book very ahead in this series a few months ago, and I’m now going back to the beginning and this is already explaining the Fool and the Wolf from that book!!!

Transphobes like to speak about destransition without knowing what they're talking about... and the book exploring it here, and it's so freaking heartbreaking, because it's about how unsafe it felt to be trans, that it was easier and safer to not be trans, to not present and be as you are for fear. Society is fucked and cruel!!!

This woman almost outing Ames!!! But also I like the surprise that straight cis white man is the one speaking up for trans rights (and in the most natural way possible)

AHHH!!! We finally have the reason for the countdown, and I'm so freaking excited!!! This book builds on Vicious and is so excellent!!!

The plus of multiple buses not showing up today was that I ended up reading almost 300 pages during my travels!!! And I'm obsessed with Marcella - is it because she's Bertha Russell coded? YES!!! Also so curious and worried about June... and I LOVE Mitch, Sydney and Victor as a weird family unit so much!!!

Shouldn’t be the point but Marcella and Marcus are giving a Bertha and George Russell vibe, and I’m loving it!!! (I should not be happy about this…)

I was going to say even though I'm liking the characters, it's not delivering in the relationship side... but she just went into a jealousy rant and things are getting worse, and that's what I wanted!!! I want Izzy Hands/Edward Teach level of toxicity, people!!! I want someone being choked to death and smiling, because at least he's being touched!!! That's *chef's kiss*!!!!

Everything else has been told in bits, it's weird that Charlotte's is told in a big chunk, I like it better broken in small bits!!!

I think the end of the book is just battle content, and that's not something I care for... I just love their daily life at the Ridge, instead of the action... Also I was reading online, bc "why care for spoilers" and I think the show decided to end with this book, and end the story here, instead of making new stuff up - which feels a good way to do an adaptation!!!

I LOVE Jamie as a father so much!!! The love and worry he has for each of his children (and Ian), and the way he accepts them and loves them all!!! And worrying for his grandkids and any future grandkids!!! I LOVE this family, and how freaking big it is!!!

(Also me being dumb and impatient by searching Marsali's sister's name, when just lines after Jamie realizes he forgot to list her and mentions Joan!!)

This is another point that I wonder if it was inspired by the show... from what I know from it, Jocasta ends up playing a bigger role and having a more lasting presence (understandable with the incredible casting!!!), so I wonder if bringing back this mention was inspired by the show...
