Off to a good start. I love a blue-collar type MMC, especially in historicals.

This author is doing way too much for the FMC. A killer, a fighter, a 6'2" gymnast to boot, all at the ripe old age of 21? I thought she was late 20's at first with the way she's portrayed to have so much experience in the Bratva. Was she running around killing people at 16? 🤔

Not sure if this author is for me. Book description says grumpy lumberjack, but I'm on Chapter 2 and he already made a Ross and Rachel reference and talked about how he was nearly in tears over being stressed. I keep thinking I'm reading a female POV and have to remind myself it's a dude.

It's been a while since I read a book by Loretta Chase, but I'm remembering now how good she can be.

And you have to get the download sent to your email, so you can't even read the prequel chapter directly from your kindle. WTF!!! I'm done.

Page 1 and I'm already annoyed. Starts with a note from author to click on link to read a prequel chapter about the MMC to better understand and empathize with his character. Why isn't it part of the regular book??? So stupid. I don't even know if i want to read any further.

Really liking this so far. New author for me, and the writing style reminds me of a few of my favorite authors.

Ok so far. Not as dark and gritty as I was expecting based off other reviews. It's more giving sex club kink vibes a bit, which isn't my jam, but I'm pushing through.

I'm starting this in spite of how cringey I think the book blurb is. Some people i follow gave it good reviews, so here we go...🤞

I'm already leary. The first few pages are filled with author's notes about traumas and trigger warnings, then a final note asking readers to excuse how she wrote her characters' actions and emotions because she understands not all people who go through something similar react the same way. Yeah, no shit. Is it really necessary to explain this to readers? This is crazy. 🤣

Oh, for fuck's sake. This is why I don't read YA romance. Lucas is an idiot.

Another book in less than a week that the FMC has ADHD and has to mention it immediately. Is this like a new trope or something?

Really liking this so far.

Mainly reading because of the drama about the book Beverly plagiarising (is that a word?) this one. I bounced back a forth between the two. It's shocking the similarities. Can't really say if the writing style is better or worse in either. They're pretty similar in that way as well. It's a big info dump in the very beginning for both. Not my favorite way for a book to start off.

Not going so good. I'm about 16% in. Picked up my kindle just now, and was trying to figure out a book to start reading BECAUSE I FORGOT I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS ONE 🤣🤣🤣. Needless to say, so far this is boring AF. Not a big fan of the FMC or her current love interest, not because they're horrible people, just blah.

Damn, I wasn't expecting to be in tears within the first 10 pages.

I was looking forward to Gibsie's story and I'm devastated to see the bad reviews. I'm hoping it's not true for me.
