I really think this could have benefited from Septimus’ POV. Kyrene as the sole POV is excruciating. She’s not the most like-able and there’s nothing compelling about her as a MC. Then, to add to that, she and Septimus have no chemistry, which affects my ability to connect to them. It feels like the story has been cut off at the knees which is disappointing especially with all the buildup around Septimus. Sigh
