I love Lotte. “Why do I get such a bad feeling when I read this storybook” gave me chills. Also after reading the story I’m interested to see what Johans plan with Nina is, if her being his twin is her being the other nameless monster

The detail in which Angelou recounts her childhood is amazing. She captures stories and feelings in a way that I’m experiencing them all. Her writing emphasizes the power of being present in every moment. Impatience today is widespread, but there’s so much wisdom to get from living in every moment and acknowledging every feeling and thought, especially the unpleasant ones.

Her writing places you in her childhood alongside her. Such a powerful gift

“The most important person is always the person you are with…”. I loved this chapter. It discussed how everyday our base intention should be to be kind and present with those around us.

“Look at all beings with the eyes of compassion.”

“We are life, and life is limitless.” Chapter discussed interdependence and how we cannot escape suffering until we lose the boundaries of distinction. We are life and death, we are every person we encounter.
