There’s a fine line between backfilling for new readers and boring dedicated series readers, and this has gone way beyond. Been tempted to call it quits.

Racist, misogynist, ex-police McKenzie devolves to slapping women, and recklessly using his firearm to shoot out a tire on a busy city street midday because he’s being followed? WTH? DNF and done with this series.
