This book is exactly the type of writing I look for. The book is informative from Jacobs' own experience and observations as someone living in the city and with experience advocating against redevelopment. It has a social lens and such clear writing that reading (still into chapter 4) about the uses of sidewalks feels like revelatory observations on human needs and how to meet them.

Reading about the functions of sidewalks in this book is so engaging!

Good read. I unfortunately have to return it to the library because of a hold on it. I hope to go back to it soon.
It is interesting to read about city management before many now-established norms such as parks as places of public recreation, the need for reasonable access to those parks by roadways and a concept of a state parks system, all of which were apparently first pushed for on a governmental level by Moses.

97 pages read and not even 10% done 😭😆 So far an interesting narrative on how an ambitious idealist begins to seek power for power's sake.

I need to look up who the target audience for this book is, because there's so many possible directions for it to go and they aren't going with any of them.

These people are still awful.

The last thriller I read the spouses were crazy for each other, these people are awful. I look forward to reading more.
