Because this is a very personal experience, the author's style is honest, authentic, and relatable. He shares all the emotions that come with being the No Impact Man and how terribly hard it is to completely change one's way of life.

The author's goal is to share his experience as the No Impact Man. He aims to have zero impact on the environment along with his dog and his daughter. Everything becomes an obstacle.

Yes, this author is qualified because this was a personal experiment done in his life. He also holds a Ph.D in electronic engineering. He had written two other books before writing No Impact Man.

This book has my curiosity because he is about to approach a lifestyle that is so counter-cultural. I am excited to keep reading.

I chose this book because the topic fascinates me, and I want to learn more about their way of life without any negative impact.

The song "Que Sera Sera" brings a heavy tone to the book. The characters are at the point of understanding that they get to decide their future. But as the cyclist rides around with this song playing, it gives Amie and Anthony a chance to reflect on life. Amie soon decides that she needs to go back to Ben, no matter what happens,

I would be frustrated about the situation, but at some point, you have to let them live their lives and make their own decisions.

If I knew I was going to die, my priorities would be faith, family, community, and enjoyment.

No, short stringers are still human beings, and they deserve natural human rights. They deserve the treatment and respect of others, no matter when their lives tragically end. They didn't choose their fate, just like people do not get to pick their family or race. This should not be counted against them.

Yes, I would because it would feel like my fate had already been determined, so I would rather sacrifice my life for another person to live.

If I had a child, I would not look at their string. I would want my love for them to be the same, not driven by future grief.

Because of this quote, "And if Abraham Lincoln had shown his string, then the men and women who looked like me and my children might still be enslaved, and our country might have been torn apart for good. I shudder at the thought of what our world would look like today if those men had been denied the chance to govern simply because of the unfortunate hand they had been dealt." pg 122-123

I would not vote for Anthony. I disagree that every politician should have to show their string because that is not directly relevant to how they would perform in office, like Abraham Lincoln.

Hank chooses not to tell anyone about his string, which shows that he prefers to face his internal struggles alone rather than with others or loved ones. It's not until Anika finds his string that he learns to properly mourn his own life instead of living in loneliness and depression.

Yes, I believe in miracles because I trust in a God who can do the impossible. One example is Jesus rising from the dead.

He recognizes the killer, so he will be questioned. But he put in his two weeks' notice, so he won't be working at the hospital much longer. People will be anxious and fearful to go back to the local hospital soon because of the shooter. In our world, this kind of thing has sadly become numb to us. It's common to see shootings headlines in the news.

If I had a long string, I would not test it. I would live a nice, long life. However, if a loved one had a short string, I would be more prone to spend time with them and try new things/experiences if that is what they want to do.

Maura attends a support group, while Amie does not open her box. Amie is a little excited though because they are living through a historical event.

Nina believes in the strings the same as Ben. Nina is worried about Maude so she sends her to a support group. Nina believes in the reality of death, nonetheless a sooner death for her partner than herself.

If I received a box, I would like to know how much life I have left on earth. I would want to know so that I do not waste it doing stupid things that do not have meaning. My opinion might change the more I think about it, but that was my initial thought.
