THEY GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT DOING THE SAME SHIT. I can’t. I can’t. I can’t. I can’t. “I’m not driving any faster than angels can fly”……….. this man constantly puts people’s lives in danger, takes ZERO accountability, and absolves himself from responsibility by calling on God. What a joke.

I need Gene to die. Surprisingly, the book is more interesting than I thought it would be. But it’s really gonna eat when Gene dies a slow painful death 😘 This man forced his daughter in the bin of a scrap truck, LIFTS THE BIN FULLY, she gets cut and falls TEN FEET, she narrowly misses being ground up like sausage, and his response is basically “damn that’s crazy, God will heal you.” HE NEEDS TO BE STONED!

The words sureeeee are smallll. I think this was the book selected for my class in university, so this book has been on my radar since then. I only read a single chapter before bed so nothing to say yet.

“Atmosphere, a love story.” A WHAT?! I don’t know what this book is about. Walking in blind because it’s a book club pick. Sometimes Reid has childish writing but I guess I should be used to it now that I’ve been forced to read a third book of hers.

Wait, is this book also a “big gay blanket” 👀

Grief is universal and unavoidable, so this book will resonate with most. The writing style almost forces the reader to reflect in the same way the author does which made for a heavy experience at times. However, there are no overarching messages or advice, but that’s the point and it works well. It helps keep the book light in a way.

I just read over 40% in one day so I am a bit embarrassed that it’s taken me so long to make good progress. Life been lifing tho. Again, no real comments on the book, at least not any that don’t need to be discussed with a therapist first 🫠

It’s kinda crazy to say, but I have nothing to say about this book so far. It’s not bad at all, there’s just no key takeaways and given the nature of the book, I don’t think there will be any. 🤷🏽‍♀️

The dialogue is choppy and usually unnecessary. When they aren’t talking, the author is describing the scenery of the campus as IF it changes over the course of year. I feel like if we describe it once that should be sufficient? And NOTHING in this book was “as deep and as big as evil itself.”

Reading this book is like chewing goddamn barbed wire.
But, this book being set at a boys high school made me reflect on the nonsense we considered important at that age. The people we admired and maybe even envied. The “cool” clothes we begged our parents for that became donations. How all of it seemed to matter so much.

So, um funny story😅. This book was borrowed from a friend IN MY FRESHMAN YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL. Obviously, I was also supposed to return it then but here we are. My mom said she ran into him last week, which reminded me of him and of the fact that I essentially stole this book. Whoops. My penance will be forcing myself to read it, which I clearly have not wanted to do in my 10+ years of having it 🫠

Baby, I finished this book the same day I gave my last update. I couldntttttt putter down! “Don’t you wish you were here?” HELL YEAH! Take me there neow, I’m literally begging! This book embodies lying on your stomach, giggling, swinging your feet in the air. Similar feeling that I had when reading “Be Ready When the Luck Happens” by Ina Garten and so I gotta give her a fiver! I don’t make the rules!

These kids are my babies and I love them dearly. I’m giving “MOMMA TALK” by Tyler the Creator behind these kids, ZERO games are being played 🙂‍↔️

And the slow burn? Chef’s kiss. Linus wrote that last letter like “my man, my man, my man”😏

Can’t sleep 🫩🙄, so I read a bit. Still very whimsy and I love the writing style/detail! I mean the man’s name is LINUS! And some of the characters are so funny. Does Mrs. Klapper need to mind her business? Yes. Do I want her to? No! It feels very light but mysterious so far. I have a feeling that now he’s arrived to the island, I won’t be able to put the book down moving forward!

SO, it’s an insane first read for 2026. I am aware lol. Super quick tho, literally finished in a sitting. Don’t expect book of the year as some of the writing is redundant but this was her therapy though an intensely traumatic experience so I made exceptions. I knew of the case but didn’t know the details, so this was enlightening (in the worst way I guess). It WILL make you lose faith in men, so there’s that

Look, 2% is 2%. I’m trying okay 😭 whimsy start which is funnnn but I have zero clue where this book could go cause I did NOT read the synopsis lol. I’m mostly reading to figure out why the cover says the book is “big gay blanket”

This book is long as HELL 🫩

I feel like I’m supposed to STILL be reading the book. But had the book gone too far, it would’ve bordered on fantasy. A realistic ending, feels too tragic/heavy, so it mostly ending in a good spot but it doesn’t feel complete. Wonderful imagery throughout the book but not overbearing. The “70s lingo” was crazy as hell at times, amongst other things iykyk lol.

I know Patric is maddddd about the invention of ring cameras 😭 Now what’s going on with her dad 👁️👁️! I’m not gonna let that go! It’s giving freak offs! And who is Max fr? On a real note, it is a bit wild that there’s so little research and treatment for sociopathy.

SPEAKING OF CATCHING BAWDIES 👁️👁️”Ariana what are you doing here”😂 sister was in them folks church PLAYING! It is a bit bizarre for me to be sympathizing someone who would never show empathy towards me. Ain’t that crazy?! And then two seconds later I want her to face consequences for her actions (I want her to chew a knuckle sammich 😇🤗). So it balances out 🙂‍↕️

Almost caught a body sisterrrr 🐈anyways, it must but liberating to not gaf, like it’s lowkey a super power/cheat code. Butttt I can say she woulda got her block knocked off doing what she was doing around me. Kid or not 🤗🙂‍↕️

I meannnnnn my jaw has DROPPED at least once/chapter so far. Sister Patric kinda eating! I can’t believe she almost got got! And the teacher! I wish I could post memes here😭 I got about 5 that would describe how I felt after this morning’s read. Anywho, I have high hopes this will get me outta my November reading slump!

This isn’t All Colors of the Dark, but sister took me in 40 different directions towards the end so it made for an exciting read. One scene REALLY doesn’t sit right w/ me. It could’ve been left out truly. Good read overall and good pace after the midway point. From there on, you’re just filled with anxiety; hoping that Chloe will stop making missteps and wondering if he will figure out that she knows more
