Ok so turns out Talia might be living my dream. Finishing up her training to be a physician and her first(?) love comes back with a ring, newly divorced, having yearned for her for 7 years. Like literally I dream of this nightly.

Was hoping it would come out at trial but at closing arguments it still isn’t answered. I’m still stuck on the kid being “asleep” at the early hour. I’ve nannied for multiple young families and am hard pressed to think of a three year old who is able to sleep through being moved around and listening to a hands free phone call at 8am. Maybe 8pm. I loved 28 Summers, and Mallory + Jake were two lovable characters—infidelity be damned! For some reason reading Rosie’s journal entries were so juicy but angering. Like reading the villain’s POV at the end of a thriller. Maybe I empathize with Irene too much because we’re both midwesterners. Russ is 50% of the problem too, but Rosie selfishly not heeding her mama’s warning is shameful.

I didn’t realize how everyone doesn’t use deodorant in 1940s Paris. Maybe I was born in the right generation.

I’ve read The Boyfriend Goal and The Romance Line by Lauren, so I thought I had a pretty good primer for all the characters. Reading this though, I felt like I was dropped in the middle of a new ‘universe’. For a “standalone” story, it certainly feels like the third book in a series I’ve never read.
