God I miss the 80s. .. beer, Seattle, fights! This book is amazing omg. The author is like 100 years old apparently and still lives in Lynnwood. I want to visit her.

I already love this book.

Fascinating.

This has got to be the weirdest premise for a book. There's a smelly sneaker competition that they're trying to win, and they're going around smelling each other's shoes... Maybe good if you have a foot fetish.

I wonder if people consider this in RL Stine's top five. It flows really well and is tightly written.

This book almost tries too hard. I don't mind the effort though. It's keeping me entertained.

This book is weird but entertaining. I think I like it.

Zany radical 90s book

It's a bit preachy, awkwardly written in places, but I like the family relationships.

I learned two words:

Weft- often referred to in "warp and weft" , the horizontal and vertical lines in weaving. I think.

Stewbum- a drunk bum, often a vagrant. Going to use that one on my friends.

Enjoyability: mid tier pike so far, could go either way for the second half of the book. Feels like a long setup, so that's promising.

Collection of short stories geared towards men at that time (late 60s/70s), non-sexual, guessing they were featured in the magazine.

I learned a new word-

Tulle (noun) [tjuːl] : a soft, fine silk, cotton, or nylon material like net, used for making veils and dresses.

This book is... holding my attention.

So far so interesting. It's my first book from Lois Duncan. It's got an edge to it, which I appreciate in these books. They're building to something early on and interested to find out what. Hoping it gets dark.

My book is weird in that there is a lot of text crammed on each page. Could have been laid out better. My fingers are getting in the way lol- weird problem.

I thought this was going to be horror, and light. Instead it's not, it's HEAVY too. ;_[
