Predicting this book's formatting might make me go crazy because what do you mean there's 70+ chapters shoved into probably less than 350 pages? How short are these chapters going to be?!

It is still driving me insane that Sara clearly doesn't see Anna, she sees what Anna can do for Kate. She thinks Anna is throwing a tantrum for attention and isn't stopping to actually ask Anna why or what she wants. She just wants Anna to drop the lawsuit so she can go back to being Kate's personal donor, and that's what is making her a shitty mother.

Reading the scene where Sara gives birth to Anna but doesn't even spare her a second thought afterwards in favor of Kate is actually so... uncomfortable. The way Sara says "Get it out" during labor instead of 'her' despite knowing Anna is a girl. It makes her claim of loving Anna feel so superficial. She doesn't love Anna, she loves what Anna could do and never considered Anna as a person.

I'm so uncomfortable.

I am 14 pages in. And already annoyed by how much Adele talks about her weight and is just generally pessimistic. Lord give me the strength to get through this book.

Considering how little I am able to tolerate this book's sex scenes, I don't think I'd survive BookTok's favorites.

It sure is an experience to read a two-chapter long sex scene and one of the characters has the same name as you. Can cross that off the bucket list, I guess. Is it obvious I'm being sarcastic yet

Two chapters in and I've already been thoroughly info-dumped on, and read the word 'fuckboi' in an actual novel for the second time in my life, coincidentally by the exact same author. It is also somewhat jarring reading about a character who has the same first name as you.

Raising my pitchfork if this is actually Howl's betrayal rn. Like it's cliche AF but let it be that he's had a change of heart between whatever the hell Sole was talking about and now <3 If she can change, why can't he?

I swear if Howl ends up betraying Sev in any way after that kiss, I WILL riot. The suspense of basically not knowing anything and gambling what to believe is already driving me insane.

Barely 50 pages later and I KNEW SOMETHING WAS GONNA GO WRONG -- lesbian drama, let's go. They broke up but considering this was labeled a queer ya romance I think I know the direction it'll take.

Halfway through the book and they're dating. What's gonna go wrong I'm so scared.

Finally got to the chapter where it begins to hint that Isabel is queer, like her going to a Girl in Red concert and feeling like everyone else there were her people because they were queer too. Also the fact that Isabel so clearly nearly said Lou acts fruity??? Girl just speak your truth, stop cutting yourself off 3

I was confused on how the book was feeling short but was 400 pages and basically 48 chapters. Realized that it's basically one scene per chapter, maybe two. Great.

Loving the realistic take of corrupt individuals in power subtly changing the commandments to suit their needs and then gaslighting everyone into believing that they simply remembered wrong. Book still drags on and tells a lot more than shows and feels boring.

This book seems to be telling a lot in a way where you are getting the point, but it's a little boring.
