Anyway not too hot on chapter 13…low-key, I don’t like the flashbacks much. Everyone other than Grace and Rocky feel sorta flat.

This book can’t hit me with “dog sized spider” and then depression.

I typically dislike sci-fi but this goes HARD so far. I like Grace a lot as a POV, what a loser

I love how the book gets better as Peril is distracted with other dragons.
Although to be honest…Peril implies that killing was a dissociative thing for her, and then acts like edgy Billy badass??? Like idk

I really, really, really really don’t like Peril in this book….shes a completely different character than she was in Clay’s.
The writing is so grating, Peril’s inner monologue genuinely irks me.
Not in a fun way!

Mannn I really do love this book. I wish it could have been longer, that we could have seen more of the set dressing. I wish Moon’s character didn’t fall apart literally seconds after she wasn’t the POV anymore.

Seedling was a very foul and uncomfortable, yet intriguing look at the idea of grief/ how it brings us closer to people.

And then the guy is shown to have just fucking murdered his dad.
It kinda to the steam out of the metaphor….also the repeated use of the word “wound” make me want to peel my own skin off.
I don’t think I really fw this one either, it still has the problem of being totally stilted.

Side tangent: I don’t like the writing style, dialogue, or characterization.
I started the story thinking, possibly, it was an effect of Jillian’s trauma.
I do not think that now. It’s just kinda wonky, stilted writing.

I just finished This Skin Was Once Mine. Low-key…kinda ass cheeks. I understand what it is going for, but I feel it misses the mark entirely.
The story feels awfully convoluted while also being terribly predictable.
I know the message is “hurt people hurt people” but blegh. I do not think it is handled well.

It’s low-key incest torture porn in my opinion. To be blunt.

AUGHHH THE REVEAL OF BATTLEWINNER IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE REVEALS IN THE SERIES. I love this book sm…I don’t care if Starflight isn’t very proactive, no one can make me dislike this one.

The way Morrowseer slipped “We thought they’d be safe from-“ HE KNOWS THE VOLCANO IS BAD UGH. I need to rattle Tui’s brain like a maraca and know what would have happened if Morrowseer KNEW about Moonwatcher. I think he would have gone with it tbh…..his behavior is so odd here I love it.
