She's spot-on. Bella DePaulo is a never-married social scientist who studies single people and the unique challenges they face. For me, this is a re-read, and the first time around I found myself nodding in agreement with the concept of singlism (which is marital-status-based, color-blind racism) and the many ways in which, in contemporary American society, we are pushed aside, made to pay more for the same things.
