This book is a true rom com like it’s giving me She’s The Man and Sydney White vibes 🤌🏽

Side note - I will never understand USA and their Greek culture like the whole houses thing, pledging, etc.

The way I was so excited to see Hunter & Demi back 🥳 ahhh overprotective (or as Conor would say, Caveman) Hunter in love is smth else

Okay I made it to chapter 6 and DAMN shits moving fast…

I’m liking the storyline so far w Taylor being dared to seduce Conor at a Greek row party, but they actually just end up talking and vibing

Such a good romance book 🤌🏽 I never thought I’d like a friends-to-lovers book so much

This book had so many scenes where I’d laugh out loud and Demi was so relatable

Okay so much happened and when Demi found out Nico cheated on her w Corinee?! I fkn called it.

Also it was sad hearing the story of Hunter as a kid catching his dad cheating on his mom & then getting blamed for trying to “start trouble” :(

So now.. we are at the stage of Demi looking for a rebound.. w Hunter.. but he’s still in his celibacy era LOL but not for long ahh 😩

Okay I’m loving Demi so far like I know it’s super early to say but she might be my fav Briar girl 🥹

So first Summer (who’s w Fitzy) And Connor were flirting, & then Brenna (who’s w Jake ) is grinding on Hunter ? Uhh is this normal behaviour for ppl in relationships ? Sad.

The egg situation is hilarious, I’m praying the guys don’t crack the egg so they can prove to coach they deserve a team pet

Okay I do not like Hazel at all. She def has a thing for Jake which is kinda sad bc they could’ve been an epic friend duo 🤷🏽‍♀️ the way she came at Brenna had me fuming 😤

Also I first didn’t like Brooks but he’s grown on me 😩 he’s reminds me of Hollis, they’re both the funny best friend characters

What does the author have have against Canada like isn’t Elle Kennedy Canadian 😭

Also why does the only brown girl in the whole series so far Rupi, have to be a lunatic like whyyy

Omggg so Brenna wanted the internship for sports journalism so she told her interviewer that she’s “dating” Jake Connelly … aka the future rookie for the Edmonton Oilers 👀

Ohhhh I’m loving this 🤌🏽 Jake’s reaction when Brenna told him and asked him to be her fake boyfriend 😭😂

The humour in this book is top tier 😂😂

Loveee the plot so far 👀 there’s nothing like a good enemies to lovers trope 😌

I’m only at the beginning but I’m already liking this book more than The Chase

Brenna being a broadcasting & journalism major, while Jake is a future rookie for the Edmonton Oilers 🤌🏽 I already like this duo

Loveee how Fitzy was able to come out of his shell and express himself more after being with an extreme-extrovert like Summer

Also the scene when Dean walked in on his sister with Fitzy 😂🫢

Okayyy so Fitzy and Summer are finally together.. and they’re actually kinda cute together. At first I was like they’re wayyyy too different but eh opposites attract 🤷🏽‍♀️

Also Hunter needs to chill w his aggression… and the whole “claim” thing over Summer… ew it’s so objectifying. Major ick.

I’m not a Summer hater but clearly her and Hunter have some vibe going on… makes me protective over Fitzy.

I just feel like Fitzy deserves better.

Also I’m assuming there are a lot more friend groups like this around, where everyone just hooks up w each other 😭 kinda like Degrassi

Well that took quite a turn … wtff was the ending

I DID NOT enjoy part 6 at all. It was so random and made no sense … like the whole “love” talks between Addie & the darkness came out of no where.

Them sleeping together & acting like a couple… wtf???? This book had so much potential but the ending was not it. I thought it was going to have a more meaningful ending.

Okay my theory was wrong 😭 but I’m glad it was bc the real twist/truth makes so much more sense.

I did not expect the darkness (dark god, demon?idk what to call him) to make a mistake!! Such a great twist, having Addie & Henry’s deals overlap.

But I also have a lot of questions now 😅 does Henry also have annual visits w the stranger? How exactly does his deal work?

So a quick catch up of thoughts: i literally cheered when Addie was able to say her own name to Henry 🥳 but that brings the question - why?? Why only him? How can he remember her when no one else does?

This is my theory: they’re soulmates

I just finished part 3 and it ends with the huge twist that … Henry made a deal too. So they both made deals with the darkness …

Wow I love the historical aspect of the book from the flashbacks of the 1700s to present 2014. The analysis of how gender has changed overtime.

How the book looks at the theme of the need for human connection 👏🏽

Oh also I literally cried reading the scene when Remy wakes up and Addie is eased from his memory 😢

“You cursed me to be forgotten.”

“You chose the words. I chose the terms.”

Wow this is really twisted. The theme of loneliness is well written. It makes me so sad for Addie… imagine living a never ending life & no one remembers you…

So the darkness twisted the deal to make Addie so miserable that she gives her soul. Read the fine print before u make deals w the devil.

It was sad reading about her past in 1714 when she tried staying at a tavern but the owner immediately forget her & kicked her out bc she thought she broke in 🙁 the part when Addie had to resort to doing things she didn’t wanna do like selling herself was also very sad.
