Sometimes I can forget that I come from parents born & raised from the birthplace of hip-hop. How their disposition can sometimes–well most of the time, be abrasive. The way they dress, the music they listen to, the way they carry themselves–the way comebacks just roll off of their tounge. It's apart of their culture, & mine. People may find the typical nuyorican abrasive, but I think they just don't get our culture.

Now THIS is a memoir! I could only get through the first chapter mainly because it made me so sooo hungry. I have a feeling I might be crying the whole way through. Not because I can't eat the food through these pages–but because I know her story is going to be told so sooo beautifully.

There's definitely an air of privilege that makes it difficult to relate to. However, heartbreaks are universal–even though we all wish they weren't. The whole time I kept wondering, "Is this man a covert narcissist?" Then my suspicion was confirmed. smh

I bought my first E-reader today. I haven't been well and I was looking for something to keep my mind preoccupied as I recover. In excitement, I bought the first book on my screen. I have mixed feelings on it so far, but I'm curious to see where it goes.

Omg I’m such a book whore. Juggling books should be my occupation. Anywho, if you’re looking for a short, well written and witty book—this is the one.

I’ve only read the prologue and the introduction and I’ve cried 4 times—and this is me practicing restraint! Everyone needs to read this. The 4th edition was published in 2021 during Trumps first term. From what I’ve just read—everything is much more painstakingly true.
