I don’t like it, I cannot DNF because I’m reading it for my feminist book club but, boy, do I not like it. I’m feeling bad for saying that when it’s based on the real life and struggles of a person but it’s boring. I thought it would be the cool road trip of 2 best friends and it’s not that.

I have to say it because a lot of romances have this scene and it is WRONG. You need to use protection for oral sex too if you’re not tested, penetration is not the only way to get STDs and, as STEM majors, they should know.

I’m not sure I understand the Selection. Every year, one of the three immortal clans or whatever choose 100 mortal people but all her family was taken only by druids? I’m not saying it’s impossible but it’s statistically unbelievable… and what does that mean some territories were not selected?

I think I’m gonna update every advancement I make in this book but violence is never ok, it upsets me that she’s not thinking about seeing a therapist when she knows her behavior is not ok… and a mental illness is not an excuse, I didn’t find her unlikable before but now I’m judging hard

I’m in love with Patrick, I regret judging him so harshly on the first pages. It’s not a romance per se but he created more expectations about men than any of the other leads I read this year.

I like Patrick and Ingrid, and I liked Peregrine but he’s unfortunately already dead

The chapter about witches was just bad and approximative. Again she’s trying to push her examples to fit her narrative.

I got it, you read books and saw movies. I’m halfway through this book and I cannot say with a gun to my head what I’m supposed to get from it. I really wanted to read it because I have sisters, it’s an important relationship for me and I wanted to know what my parents did right or how did we end up there but no idea. Also I think she’s bending facts to fit her narrative.

I was not sure I liked Patrick at the beginning but it was just that the narrator doesn’t present him well (in my opinion). Based on other comments, I know we never know what she’s suffering from but is it really like that, mental disease I mean?

At the moment, it’s another rich person telling you should meditate without taking any consideration that for some it’s a luxury you cannot afford.
