Bechdel’s interrogation into her family life and personal situations, both in her childhood and after she left home, are very insightful. There are areas I can resonate with myself, and others I am learning about from her point-of-view. Overall, a gripping read so far.

Knisley’s experience of caring for her parents really correlate with my own caring role. Just because you are on holiday (or doing the fun things), doesn’t mean that role magically disappears. It also shows the intricacies of caring for disabled/elderly relatives, something which is not talked about as such.
