Inej has woken up from her coma. I enjoyed getting a scene of seeing my girls interact with one another.

While waiting for Inej to wake up after healing her, Nina is swarmed by thoughts from her past. Thinking of her time as an apprentice and how her master traumatized her. Taken back to the time she was imprisoned by the Fjerda.

Inej came in contact with the women who used to own her and was trying to sell her as a slave. The team ship blew up. Apparently it was a decoy so that’s a relief lol. Thanks Kaz for that information.

Now the crew is trying to fight off a bunch of men from blowing up their actual ship. And we finally get to see Waylands ammunition skills.

Damn, Kaz just beat the shit out of Matthias for trying to jump him to get the pardon. He kinda deserved it though. Way to go Kaz! I would have loved to see Inej and Kaz take him on but whatever

A plan of how to break Yul-Bayar out of the Ice Court has been set. The team seems very unsure and are pretty feisty with one another. We already knew there was tension between Nina and Matthias OBVIOUSLY. Now there is some sass coming from both Jesper and Waylan. I’m hoping Kaz has a way of keeping everyone in line or boy this will be a shitshow.

They got Matthias out of Hellgate. But man I NEED to know what Nina did that makes Matthias want to kill her so bad. Also that guy thought he could jump Inej! Bitch please, she is always 5 steps ahead.

Ugh I forgot how good this book is. I’m glad I decided to reread it after many years. This is definitely something that people need to read to try and get a positive attitude in the dark world we are in today. Thank you Lin Manuel for this masterpiece

Leander was in the basement of the Homes house the entire time. What the fuck! Allistar was behind everything to frame the Moriartys. Emma is fine too? I’m so confused what is going on. I was just trying to read to help fall back to sleep. Now I’m wide the fuck awake because I want to know how it ends.

The crews mission was successful!! Both Hadrian and Phillipa were arrested. Even though Charlotte, Jamie, and even August almost died in the process. So happy that August wasn’t a trader. However I was surprised he almost killed himself for Jamie and Charlotte.

They are on their way to return the prisoners to Milo. Are they going to end up reveling what happened to Leander? Is he alive? I need to know?

Jamie, Charlotte, Tom and Lena have crashed the Moriartys Auction. Still unsure of August is in the same side as our team. He is hanging in the corner of the event with Hadrian standing not too far from him. If August is supposed to be “dead” and his siblings aren’t supposed to know that he is not. It seems sus that he is standing so close to them. Hmmmm……

Jamie, Charlotte, August, Tom and Lena have flown to Prague to attend a auction hosted by the Moriartys. Jamie and Charlotte are in rough shape after their kidnapping and escape. Yet they decided to have some sexual fun? Not going all the way but still, I wast expecting it.

It feels weird to me that they are still trying to ship the characters together. Maybe I will like it later in the series but not now.

Jamie and Charlotte were kidnapped. I assume by one of Augusts siblings. Jamie tried fighting the guy who kidnapped them but ended up getting his ass kicked. Whomp Whomp…. Anyway now the story is being told in Charlottes perspective because Jamie has been knocked unconscious. I’m very intrigued to see the difference between Jamie narrating and Charlotte narrating.

Kaz, Inej, Nina and Muzzen went to go rescue Nina’s former lover Matthias. I find it weird that they seem to have a rocky relationship. Do they love each other? Did Nina send him to Hellgate? I’m just trying to understand. Also why does Kaz have so many fake uniforms of the failures and the Stadgate. Also I really want to know what the full deal of this heist is.

Jamie and Charlotte get into a heated argument about what they are. God, damnnn Jamie you had to kiss her when you knew she probably wasn’t going to take it well. Now she has run off to god knows where. Jamie reluctantly has to team up with August to find her while also trying to work in the case to find Leander Holmes. This is a cluster fuck

Jamie kissed Charlotte. To me it just seemed random. I get they were talking about their filters as partners/ crime solvers. However it seemed like a platonic future. It just came out of left feild for me.

Kaz is slowly starting to inform his team about the new job they have just been assigned. Inej is feeling very worried about him after he was jumped. She also is feeling very weary about the job and what it entails since Kaz has given her barely any information.

Kaz gets kidnapped and drugged by some black figures that can walk through walls. When he wakes up he is in the basement of Van Eck (a wealthy merchant. He explains to Kaz that he needs him and his team to steal Bo Yul-Bayur who created this drug that when given to the Grisha gives them special abilities.

Charlotte and Jamie went on a little date to a Christmas market while August interrogated Nathaniel about knowing Hadrian Moriarty. It was good to finally get so see a fully happy memory being made between our main pair. They haven’t really gotten that since the first book.

After having some fun, the pair returns to find that August had let Nathaniel go because he claimed he knew nothing that would help them.

Kaz of the Dreads and Geels of the Black Tips had a stand off in the square. Kaz find out that Big Bol was a traitor to the Dreads and was spying for the Black Tips. Which caused him to get shot in the gut by guards Kaz bribed.

Our detective team is working to uncover how the professor is linked to working with the Moriartys which will lead them to Leander. However Jamie thinks their findings of documents and transactions with the Moriartys that were in the professors apartment might be a trap.

I’m wondering if Joost was just like the prologue to show that the ambassador got murdered and then we move on to our main characters. Just seems like a spontaneous jump from Joost to what I think is going to be the main cast of characters. Also they are throwing so many names of people and places at me that it’s almost overwhelming. Good lord.

NOOOO ERIC DIED!!! That’s so sucky. I was hopping he got better and I had a bad feeling when the cancer came back but I was still holding out hope. Ohh and this story is nonfiction. That makes it hurt more!!!! That poor family.

Ughhh the relationship now that has been built between Jarrett and Diego warms my heart. I also love the relationship between Jarrett and Eric’s family. Him being there for Jason at the campout so he didn’t get worried about leaving his mom alone is sweet. I have a feeling we will see the relationship between Jarrett and Eric’s family outside the camp setting.

I love getting to see new side quests for Anakin and Obi-Wan during the clone wars. Favorite chaotic duo with married couple banter.
