I'm returning this to the library come morning, so let's have one final read during which I don't have to consider my review at all.

This for sure deserves an encore read. I like the bits of narrative it spins, which its companion book about construction vehicles did not. Michael Joosten and Paul Boston are a compelling pair on the page.

I've wanted to get into this one since late 2024, and now's the time. Michael Joosten's other Little Golden Book collaboration with nostalgia illustrator Paul Boston was good, self-restrained fun, so let's see if My Little Golden Book About Airplanes can equal it.

I have a weakness for Michael Joosten's Mom Hugs. Let's do this again!

This was the first eligible book I read from the 2026 Newbery class. The illustrator isn't from the U.S., so the book wasn't Caldecott eligible.

Laurie Halse Anderson's YA and middle-grade novels envelop me right away every time. Her writing is mesmerizing; I've thought so ever since Chains.

Cover art by Chantal Horeis, an artist with whom I am not familiar. I thought Rebellion 1776 might be Laurie Halse Anderson's breakthrough for at least a Newbery Honor, but it was not to be. Now it's time to read the book and see if I think it deserved a 2026 Newbery. I won't be surprised if my answer is an affirmative; Laurie Halse Anderson has long been one of my favorites.

How will Mr. Paulsen possibly bring the ending to a satisfying conclusion by page seventy-four?

My Groundhog Day read, and it's a good one. Stephen Cosgrove is among the most underrated authors of youth literature I have encountered. He is wise, and a master with words and wistful characters.

Bangarang. Wonderful stuff thus far. I didn't expect such efficient, claustrophobic storytelling from World of Adventure.

Surprisingly fast-paced and exciting for a World of Adventure entry. What has Gary Paulsen gotten us into?

Cover art by Steve Chorney, as usual. World of Adventure isn't the best of Gary Paulsen, but it's not a bad series considering the brevity of the books.

A final read today before I finalize my review. This is an amusing story I don't mind spending repeat time within.

I read this to Alice and Charlie today when they came to our house to watch the 2011 Disney movie Winnie the Pooh! :-) Little Rabbit's Baby Sister is a wise, sweet book worthy of the time we carved out for it in the library of our house today.

Let's try to get in another read of this sometime Saturday, then I can revisit and revise my review to bring it to its full potential.
