I am utterly baffled by the 5 star reviews of this book. The writing is repetitive, and I'm not sure an editor ever touched it. I don't have any problem with the virus/almost-zombies being a cliche, there's only so many ways to take on the subject...but the characters and underlying science are under-developed and the military personnel act like a teenager's idea of what special forces would be like.
