I can put this book down if I begin to feel like that the story in of itself is overwhelming, but I cannot begin to imagine what it must be like to in such circumstances that the Palestinian people have been and are in. Fuck colonialism. Fuck imperialism. Fuck Israel.

What kind of fucked up family gas lights the hell of their sister and daughter about a suicide attempt when one of them, in reality, "accidentally" almost drowned her and didn't even attempt to save her... like like whatt the hellll

It's interesting moving from audiobook to word and seeing how the names are actually spelled

Moving over to physical book now. Idk how they work I've heard you have to imagine stuff but idk-

The book though is kinda slowing down and I'm hoping the end is satisfying and not a damn cliffhanger

Starting to roll my eyes now that the 2nd law of thermodynamics is being spoken like a philosophical statement.. she didn't even explain it correctly

Audiobook currently but will switch to psychical soon. First few chapters were a bit of a bore but oh man was it worth it. The philosophy of a non-being god portrayed as change itself is cool but I feel like I'm itching for more explanation/exploration.

Death, as narrator, describes a setting of pity: German citizens crammed into a concrete basement—a makeshift shelter—all holding hands and wiping the tears of children. Air raid sirens lead them there. Death remarks pity but only some, as he remarks the souls he took from washrooms in camps. For them he holds more pity, for at the least the Germans "have a chance for life."

I wonder what it would be like to live in Nazi Germany, where this book takes place. To be surrounded by fascism. Where minorities are blamed for the country's problems; where men in uniforms question and take people away; and where a loud and stupid voice blares its idiocracy as he allows for hate among people. 😒

"A large populace held in check by a small but powerful force is a common situation in our universe. This populace may turn...
1. When they find a leader. They must retain control of leaders.
2. When the populace recognizes its chains. Keep the population blind and unquestioning.
3. When the populace perceives a hope of escape from bondage. They must never even believe that escape is possible." (Paraphrased)
