Mihail Yonkov > Recent Status Updates

A big fat middle finger to anyone who believes that an explosive opening hook is the most important thing in a book.

5 chapters of slow depiction of the valley, followed by introduction of a bunch of characters (some already dead) and a ton of small loosely-connected stories that give nothing else, but extensive context.

And it's a-ma-zing!

Wondering guys what would you rather do:
- Leave a 1-star rating with no review, or
- leave no rating but provide an extensive negative review?

It's for a book that a friend of mine is reading :)

I just wanted to let you know that I’m close to finishing a new book project.

This time, it’s a fiction novel told through interconnected stories.

There’s a hotel by the Black Sea, a handful of complicated staff members with secrets of their own, difficult choices, and glimpses of Bulgaria’s recent past. Looking forward to sharing more soon.

Would anyone be so kind as to recommend some good resources (books, podcasts, YouTube channels) on audiobook narration?

I'm planning to narrate the audiobook for my next project myself, so any tips would be very welcome.

"When he slid inside of me, I had never felt closer to another person in my whole life."

Behold the pinnacle of the modern literary genius!

What I get so far is:

1) Life changing decisions are subject to tough and thoroughl evaluation. Unless they sound fun, then you change states and jobs in a whim.

2) Your best friend pushes you to make the most illogical life choice exactly when you have the strongest arguments against it.

3) that first kiss is a huge thing.

Not that I'm impatient or something, but are they supposed to kiss anytime soon?

I chose this book for my first romance novel. Ever.
Not gonna lie, it's weird.

My takeaways so far are:
- the guy MUST be desired and popular, even through a reddit post
- the guy must be funny
- girls are allowed to do a whole background check on a person and it is considered normal. Reciprocal behavior is creepy
- there must be some sort of personal AND external disaster happening to the the guy

I love it so far!

My book, The Game Before the Play: Power in Negotiation, is free on Amazon today and tomorrow. It is also being featured in BookBub’s Free Reads promotion today.

I hope you enjoy it. I would be interested to hear your thoughts after you have read it.
