I know everyone loves this but I took a break from it and the dread I have about picking it back up is no joke so I think we can safely conclude that it’s not for me.

I had been looking forward to this sequel and did a full reread of the first book to make sure I’d be ready for it. Unfortunately this one started out not great: a few instances of telling without showing, followed by wonderful settings but a sort of meandering narrative that’s struggling to hold my attention.

I’m setting it down, and I’m not sure I found enough in it to encourage me to pick it up again.

I give up. This has been a whole lot of Peter Pan syndrome and miscommunication; I only liked one character and wanted the backstory but it’s just not enough. She can no longer carry the whole book and I’m not wasting more time on this.

Note to self: in the future, avoid all books featuring a Vegas trip.

Ok m not really comfortable with the age difference and power dynamics as they’ve been setup here so I’m not going to continue.

One of my resolutions for this year is to allow myself as many rereads as I like, especially considering that my TBR is fairly under control finally!
So here I am on my second reread of this gem, and can’t wait to hang out with Eve again 💜

I swear I’ve tried, look I far I got! But something about this pairing gives me the ick and once the intimate scenes starts that’s just 100 times worse

But also, for something that’s been a long time coming that was surprisingly anticlimactic

So. I’m 300 pages in and while I don’t mind the slow narrative pace per sé, I can’t help but feel that more story development and character development should have been accomplished by now. And while I don’t mind continuing, I don’t know if I’m setting myself up for frustration since the story will likely end in a cliffhanger, and I’m not sure I am interested enough to want to read the sequel.

I’ve been reading this whole time, why did I miss???

I love these characters and this world but I don’t think these light novels are for me. I really don’t enjoy the writing style. I got through the first two (though it took me quite long) anf thought loving the characters and world would be enough to eventually reel me in but unfortunately it isn’t so I think I’ll abandon the light novels and give the manhwa a try.

I really wanted to like this and I really tried but I still find it hard to follow, I don’t know why.
I like the characters and that’s what kept me going this long but I don’t think the storytelling is well-structured; and the worldbuilding is done in bits and pieces so I had a floating question mark over my head most of the time.

I want to like this book but so far I’m finding it quite dry.

Nestor talks a lot of shit about tenfold and wise but then goes and supports Agamemnon, so I think only one of this things is accurate.
