Interesting look at las Vegas soon after Captain Tripps has hit the population and good use of Randall flags abilities that feels in line with The Stand lore, yet expands on how it works

Im pretty sure these book aren't gonna work for me, but im not giving up yet

1/5 - The Tripps by Wrath James White

Dialogue felt forced and unnatural, descriptions felt pointless and long winded, violence was gory with no feeling of tension or impact, and the use of Randall Flagg stretched his powers outside of established boundaries from the stand and the dark tower.

I can see how this author could be attractive for some, but I did not find him interesting or exciting at all

5/5 - Room 24 by Caroline Kepnes

A truly remarkable and disturbing look at a man with seemingly good intentions that quickly show something much darker underneath behind a veil of kindness that he hides from himself.

So king is doing some both sides stuff about abortion (dont like that), but he also has an adorable elderly romance happening, and the aura colors are a very different jump into horror and fantasy that I like

5/5 - Luckey Quarter

This one somehow managed to weave a tale of an unlucky woman having her luck change for good, and yet held a tone of fear over every good thing that happened. At a high level nothing is wrong, yet the persistent feeling that everything is wrong lingers.

This is probably the most heavily dark yower tied book I read outside of the core series, and I think thay really is a double edged sword for this book. If you haven't read the dark tower it may feel incomplete, but if you HAVE read the dark tower it gives you context and expectations that match the intent.

King is walking a fine line with his discussions of domestic abuse that i fear are heading to the abuser being a good person due to dark tower shenanigans. It makes sense that this book comes across as divisive, especially for those without the context of the dark tower universe.

Fun dry humor, not sure if audio books work for me for murder mystery. But even with that im having fun

The best usage of a haunted building ive read. Vague yet direct, and points in a direction while making the fear feel palpable.

Freddie is more engaging than Laura currently, but it sounds like Laura's adventure is only just beginning

3/5 - That Feeling, You Can Only Say What it is in French

Spooky play on Deja Vu. Shows you this woman repeatedly seeing what will happen after her plane lands, and each time it is slightly different yet predictable. Begs the question if this is foresight of what will happen or a trapped psyche before a plane crash, or maybe even hell.

I wish the author would stop using Leanor Dove's full name EVERY time she is mentioned... and she's mentioned constantly. I get it, dove, peace, rebellion, calm your tits Suzanne!

Jumping from Jeff Hayes narration to this guy is just painful. Im trying to look past it and enjoy what is written, but its difficult

Very disconcerting tale of murder, insanity, and divorce that left me with a feeling of uncertainty about the reliability of the narrator. Confused yet i still think about it
