This story furthers my theory of the shining making one immune to the virus, and shown a light on one of the edge cases of a pandemic and the use of isolation within it.

Im a suckered for a boy and his dog, and while this story teases that emotional pull, the focus for me was on Randall Flagg's attempt at this young man's life. Flagg's pursuit of troubled, imperfect people is on full display with his subtle magicians touch, and I find those aspects of the stand and the greater dark tower universe fascinating

Dialogue felt forced and unnatural, descriptions felt pointless and long winded, violence was gory with no feeling of tension or impact, and the use of Randall Flagg stretched his powers outside of established boundaries from the stand and the dark tower.
I can see how this author could be attractive for some, but I did not find him interesting or exciting at all
