The author hasn’t explained how he chose which bands to profile and I am incredibly unconvinced by Mission of Burma.

This book has taken A TURN.

Jackie Collins is alive and well and still publishing, is what I'm getting from this so far.

The last victim was attacked at the beginning of December, now a few days afterwards, it's mysteriously February. I can forgive a lot of editing fails, and this isn't one of them.

I am super hopeful that real FBI agents pass this book around and snicker. Like it’s give to new agents as a hazing ritual. Because I cannot even imagine this is how a real investigation could ever work.

For a book about swimming pools, this book is surprisingly… dry.

Author, are we falling prey to Kay Scarpetta syndrome? Is this book just a long series of people trying to professionally humiliate the protagonist while she bemoans the state of her prickly personal life?

Because life is short, and my local little free library needs stocking.

There are places this book is a hot mess, and hoo boy is the author much more of a Patti Smith fan than I am, but I am still so far loving it.

There are like, four plotlines and 11 named characters to keep track of while worrying about a dog, and I am very, very tired.

I find it so hilarious when people name their bikes for trips, and the bike becomes a character in the book. (Full disclosure: I fully name my bikes).
