Whatever happened to authors Cameron Dane and Emerson Rose? 🧐

I am still ruminating over Rina Kent's latest book, "Beautiful Venom."

I really like Dahlia... it's the rest of it I need to think over & see how I feel overall. Like, i feel that the actual romance was too minimal yet the story is interesting.

Also, I think the author had another Black woman as a supporting character, the FMC's roommate, Megan. I'd like to read more of her romance in upcoming books.

I have a lot of backlogged "currently reading" books I need to get through. Will try to knock out several of those by the end of 2025 to hit my reading challenge goal. Time will tell.

It's taking me a while to get in to this book for some reason but I am pushing through as I generally really enjoy this author's work.

I have a feeling this is going to be my fave book of the series. It's ticking all my boxes so far.

My fave book in the series thus far has been Nico & Auggie's romance.

I also still have Dustin & Charlie's book to read.

Does Rina Kent hate the idea of putting Black Women in her romance books due to her fixation of her characters all having pale skin? 🤔

It is weird how she doesn't include Black women any where in her books AND that so many romance readers gloss over misogynoir.

In "Broken Knight," LJ Shen had Rosie push Dean & the kids towards Dixie, gave Dixie her blessing + said Dixie was fam too as Knight's bio mother before her death. Did LJ Shen forget all that when it came to "Damaged Goods?" Made Dean a deadbeat dad too re: his baby girl in her special epilogue. LJ Shen just butchered her own characters as well as contradicted prior writing and for what? AN ABSOLUTE MESS.

It is an absolute mess in how the author is handling Dean & Dixie that I don't know what she was thinking. She already killed off Rosie. Either commit to having Dean move forward or don't but trying to have it both ways which only hurts the character. Some bad choices in how to handle a widower years later after his wife's passing. Selfish to rather have him be alone for the rest of his long life. 😐

Still mostly enjoying this anthology. Definitely primarily dark / erotic romances. There are 2 stories I totally plan to read the full-length novels for once they drop plus a few maybes whenever they release.

Seems most of the full-length novels of these anthology stories won't be out til 2024, which I'm not a fan of the long wait. 😕. I wish they were dropping within the next 3-6 months.

I'm enjoying it so far. There are definitely a few anthology stories in this collection in which I want to read the full length novel.

While I haven't been quiet about my wishing this was a true menage romance, not a shared woman situation, there are two things not working for me:
1) I buy Nyla is in love with Gio but I don't get that same vibe with Jace. It's more loves him but not in love re: Jace
2) I'm really tired of (& offended by) Jace and Gio constantly talking about how straight they are so nothing will ever happen between them. Enough!

One of the main guys is already talking about he only loves the main gal & doesn't think of the other main guy that way on page one. 😞 I hope that all changes by the end of the second book but my expectations have been lowered a lot.I was hoping for a true menage love story but it's not that and it's not really giving romance either. Enjoying it so far

It is interesting so far. One of the heroes in this book is biracial and of course it is his father who is Black. 😶 I wish this author would write Black women in to her books. I am so disappointed by the passive misogynoir & exclusion from the 13 (I think) books by her I have read. I like her books but I can't ignore this unfortunate exclusion trend.

Definitely a different, softer vibe to this story compared to the author's other books but still pretty enjoyable.😊 Still the same grammatical issues too e.g. "Why aren't your..."

I am continually perplexed by Alexandria's age being all over the place. She's around the same age of Dmitry & Royal's twin boys since they were newborns when Renee found out she was 2 months pregnant. Alexandria is also 5/6 years younger than Anya yet Alexandria seems to constantly stay around 2 years old except in Anatoly's Retribution when she actually seems to be around 4 years old. What is going on??

I enjoyed the first book a lot. Pulling for Samina and Tristan.

Enjoying it so far. The author's are always a good slow burn

Cute read so far. Sosie Frost is always good with flirty dialogue in her stories.
