Unconditional love for others page 49 out of 167

This is what is called a "must read"

Near the end on Audible. The novel excels at showing how truth is filtered through perspective, silence, and self-interest. Quietly tense and psychologically sharp as it moves toward resolution.

This book is deeply personal for me, as it’s tied directly to my family history and my maternal grandfather, Jesse Norwood. I’ve found that listening allows me to better absorb the material, and it’s helped me make steady progress. Currently in Chapter 5 with about three hours left, and feeling committed to finally finishing this meaningful work.

The Widow leans heavily into character backstory and atmosphere early on. Grisham spends a lot of time establishing who people are, how they’re connected, and the emotional weight of their pasts before the plot truly accelerates. That can absolutely feel like slow forward motion if you’re expecting courtroom tension or fast-moving intrigue right out of the gate.
