I don’t want this to end. It’s honestly one of THE most incredible reading experiences I’ve ever had.

The detail. The back and fourth, past and present. The SLOWEST of burns.

Every time I open it up I know exactly where I’ve left off. I don’t think my brain has ever retained so much.

Clinging onto every detail like the last drop of water in a sweltering desert.

Okay I am sooo into this. 30 pages in - lets go!

The world building is fantastic, the smells, the sounds, the sea! I'm basically watching a film in my head.

I didn't know this, but the chapters alternate between the present and the past, so the pace is spot on, but each chapter is so rich with information.
Can't wait to finish work and carry on reading.

So far this is amazing! But I feel like I need to get cosy and finish this off in one sitting to really appreciate it. ❤️

So far this has been an easy read. But I’m over the halfway mark and I don’t feel like anything has happened?

The main characters are interesting, albeit sometimes annoying. And the world building is okay. I expected more history/lore. I mean Sirens with wings?! It’s such a cool concept.

But maybe this whole book is just setting it up for the second? I’ve only just really touched on the actual plot. 🙈

This is without a doubt the best book I’ve read all year. My eyes hurt. I’m happy. I’m sad. I’m all the emotions.

And I’m so unbelievably grateful I saved it - because now I get to go straight into the second.
