I think this one might find itself in the dnf pile…
It’s just not sticking with me as much as I hoped it would. Blood on her tongue was such an incredible read for me, so this novel definitely had some big shoes to fill.
It’s just so tiring having to pick up this book.

so, the dead, vengeful spirit is the only one making sense in this book???? like yes, it is very much illegal to dig up a corpse. Props to Ruth for keeping our main girl somewhat grounded.

I’ve made a tremendous jump on my progress through this book. Eerie books like this one always leave me feeling cozy, not too sure why that is, but who am I to complain!

how do you expect her to want to keep opening up about her story if your calling her ‘hysterical’ and speaking in a snarky tone!! 🙄

I haven’t had too much time to read this weekend! a lot is going on… but I managed to sneak in a little time today.

I’ve been teetering on the thought of beginning this book ever since I finished Blood on her Tongue. I’ve decided enough is enough and I’m finally going to give it a go.
So far so good, I feel relatively hooked for the most part.
I am going to try my very best to not compare it to her other books which was one of my first five star reads!

I’m starting to understanding the red flags here- but honestly, if I was blinded by the intensity of love and comfort I could totally overlook them for a little.

it’s so refreshing to stop pretending I enjoy dark romance to fit in with other book girlies 😮‍💨

I’m a little over halfway through this book and I’m struggling to see the ‘red flags’ in ash…. I don’t know if it’s just me being enticed by her dominance, but she seems like a breath of fresh air!

I’m super into this so far! I’m really intrigued to see how the concept of ‘ash’ is suppose to take a dark turn. I’m struggling to see the red flags in this woman, but perhaps it’s too early to tell. Besides the fact that she’s an ‘private person’ nothing else proves itself worthy of speculation.
I can see why my girl Ro has a big fat crush on this girl haha! 😽😽

goodness, Rosemary is on a whole other level of romanticism 😮‍💨
I relate to her in that sense. I too try to make life seem more bright and dainty then it actually is. Good for you queen!

I fear that the romance between these two characters is kind of forced? It kinda came out of the blue for me. I knew this book had some romance in it to begin with, but I feel so little energy and connection between the two main characters. They don’t really have any romantic interactions up until the last chapter.

ok ok, so we’re officially making more progress in the book. I’m noticing a bit more romance blossoming between the two main character, along with very intriguing advancements in the murder case!

I feel so defeated being a slow reader.. like, I’m seeing people on here finishing books within a week, or even a couple days. And then there’s me who needs a month or more-

I’m really enjoying this novel. However, I’m nearly halfway through and the main characters have just<\b> started making very little progress in this case.

the author definitely did a good jobs at channeling that classic rom-com vibe!
I’m really enjoying this so far, it’s a read that I don’t have to think to much on. Just something silly and light to tide me over! 🫶🏻

I dove into this book expecting something darker, something that more fell into the genre of intense Stockholm syndrome. Instead, I was greeted by a wholesome monster man yearning for love and companionship. I think this book is super sweet and I’m really enjoying the fact that he truly cares for his tiny human 🫶🏻

he’s so patient with her and certainly trying his very best to be painstakingly gentle!

I’m aware I’ve made very little progress into this book, but I wanted to make comment on how I’m enjoying the ‘beauty and the beast’ dynamic so far.
I can’t be sure that’ll be the true vibe for the remainder of the novel, but it’s quite nice! ✨
