Issue 5
Actually insane work making me care and relate to such a goofy character like 8-ball. I don’t think his session quite lines up to how great the others were, but it’s still very good. Moon Knight convinced him that he could be a better man, but he’s still afraid. I love how goofy he is “I’m calling my shot. 8-ball, corner pocket!”

Issue 3
Love this storytelling of exploring each members different method of grief. The guilt that Soldier feels and the way he has stepped up to do what he thinks Moon Knight would have wanted. I also love his analogy of the Midnight Mission being a gang.

Issue 2
Imposter Moon Knight seems to be a very interesting character, I am looking forward to seeings more. I hope each issue has a member of the midnight mission in a session with Dr. Sterman. Such a fascinating method of exploring grief with each of these characters.

Issue 1
Moon Knight’s funeral was very well done. I love that the Midnight Mission contacts Ben Grimm to help orchestrate a shiva for Marc. I also love that even though Marc assumed everyone hated him, many heroes came to mourn. It almost makes a part of me wish that he stays dead, but I already know he returns

Marvel Spotlight 29

These issues are a fun setup for Moon Knight, but until they become fleshed out they feel a little generic. I think the superpowers from the werewolf bite are an interesting concept, but ultimately glad they have been forgotten. It’s fascinating to see Moon Knight before any relation to Khonshu. The checkerboard fight with Conquer Lord won me over to liking his role as generic goofy villain.

Marvel Spotlight 28

The spotlight issue introduces Steven Grant and Jake Lockley into the mix, but at this point they are just alter egos for Marc. He also has powers based on the moon, after saliva from WBN gives him werewolf strength. Conquer Lord is so goofy and not super interesting. I think Marc’s snark is unexpectedly funny, and almost makes me wish he had a little more if it in current day runs.

He got his bread.

Moon Knight captures Jack Russell and secured his $10k bag. But he’s not a totally shitty guy so he releases the beast on the fat cats who wanna use the werewolf to commit ‘business murders?’.

Werewolf by Night 32

I believe I read this ages ago, but I just picked up the Moon Knight Omnibus and thoroughly enjoyed this issue. It’s interesting to see the beginnings of the character of Moon Knight especially since I know how he evolves. His conception being just some solider handed a silver suit so he can hunt a werewolf for bread is very detached from what he becomes.

Issue 13
Decent issue, makes sense as a penultimate to to showdown. I feel like I missed something with the Red Hood gang.

Issue 12
They have done an impeccable job making Bane into a monstrous seemingly unstoppable villain that I can’t even envision a way that Bruce can beat him. What Bane does to Harvey, Ozzie, and Eddie is difficult to see, but what he does to Ozzie especially is horrific. I was curious how they’d turn him from a normal looking dude into The Penguin, but i absolutely did not see that coming.

Issue 11
Bane is such a scary character. This metaphoric interpretation of breaking Batman’s back is so unbelievably brutal and unsettling, im so curious to see what happens next

Issue 10
Absolutely one of my favorites issues in this run. The attempts at breaking Bruce down and he constant innovation and tactics to fight back is written so perfectly. Bane is such an asshole, and I feel so bad for Martha.

Issue 9
Introduction of Bane and holy shit is he scary. That introductory skull smash really sets the tone for him off that bat. I am really loving the friendship of Bruce and his crime alley crew.

Issue 8
Love the color, it’s so gorgeous to look at. I love the design for Mr Freeze, he looks so damn creepy it’s great. The interpretation of what it’s like being cryogenically frozen is also horrifying, i love it.

Issue 7
Love the mystery being set up, the art didn’t blow me away this issue. The interpretation of Mr Freeze seems really interesting and very creepy.

Issue 5
I think what they’ve done with Roman Sionis is incredibly impressive. I know almost nothing about his mainline counterpart, but he is so good in this series. I think his monologue about pigs and hitting the hedonistic hub is so wonderfully crafted and twisted. That and him shooting his own men because he knows Batman will want to save them is just so perfect when it comes to building this villain.

Issue 4
Best issue up to this point. Has everything I loved about a Batman origin, it even has the cursive Bruce thoughts. I love seeing the evolution of the Absolute Batman and the metaphor of the bridge to the adapting of the Batman idea. Young Bruce’s speech to Joe Chill is also phenomenal, very real.

Issue 3
Seeing Bruce interact with friends and family is a rare experience for me and it does not go unappreciated. I’m so intrigued to see how these relationships evolve since they are part of his rogues gallery.

Issue 2
No dip in quality whatsoever, the artwork is still just outstanding as well as the characters. Bruce has always been a phenomenal character, but Absolute Batman is just doing something really special

Issue 1
Read this book before, but needed a reread. This is just instantly compelling. The world building is phenomenal, it feels so real and lived in. I love seeing Bruce working through multiple jobs as a he builds a full picture of the city in his mind. By far the coolest thing for me with this comic is the artwork. I think it’s the best I’ve seen within the limited number of batman comics that I have read.

Issue 29
I knew Black Spectre would be Sigmund, so glad that I wrote it down. Great fight in this issue. Immediately resolved my issue about wanting to see more of Reese and Soldier. Love this run, excited to see how it wraps up.

Issue 28
Solid buildup into the finale showdown. I love the white shit being stained with blood. Hunter’s Moon has grown on me quite a bit. Only criticism is I miss seeing more of Reese and Soldier.

Issue 27
Pretty interesting, i didn’t love Hawley when he was first introduced, but I like this use of his powers more this time around. I like them allowing the last piece of good remaining in Vibro to fight back.

Issue 26
Loving the recent exploration of side characters and Hunter’s Moon is definitely a character I thought would benefit from this. I like the concept of his resurrection leaving his mind susceptible to the other fists controlling him, and how he has grown since meeting Marc.

Issue 25
Really solid, love Black Spectre and Zodiac having this rivalry. I also love that they made me care about 8-Ball and giving him more to do than just “goofy dude wearing a pool ball helmet”. Super cool seeing Marc fulfill his promise to Marko.

Issue 23
Venom and Moon Knight look so good together on a page. Love to see it

Issue 22
Like with Reese, im happy that they did an issue with Tigra, she’s a character I’m not super familiar with apart with her friendship with Marc, and this issue really highlights that relationship. I also think they got potential to be a great couple.

Issue 21
I’m glad that there is a Reese focused issue. I feel like as a character I still hadn’t really gotten a feel for her, but I think this issue does a lot to flesh her out.

Moon Debt
The art is outstanding in this, not the mention I love seeing Blade

Issue 20
They went all out with the art is this issue, love how illuminated Moon Knight looks in these. I predict Sigmund has something to do with the shadow cabinets murders.
