This issue doesn’t feel like it explores quite a heavy hitting themes for me as some of other works by Loeb and Sale, but I think it is still very enjoyable. I love the Cap narration, especially the line “As soon as you lay down with the dogs you wake up with fleas”

This is the stuff I love from Loeb and Sale. The grief Cap gives himself about every mistake he made with Bucky, and his unwillingness to lose him. The artwork in this issue is also stunning and the colors are maybe the best I’ve ever seen from Loeb and Sale.

The art is so beautiful, i can’t get over it, it especially lends itself to the environment and time that this story takes place. Cap, Bucky, and the Howling Commandos have a really engaging dynamic that I love.

I think it’s a good premise switching between after and before cap was frozen. I think the messaging of grief, regret, and things unsaid also fits within the story very well.

Cap and Bucky always had a dynamic I really enjoyed ever since I was a kid and watch Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes. The art and color in this issue is gorgeous and the explanation for allowing Bucky to serve as Cap’s sidekick works for me.
