I hate the main characters. There, I’ve said it. Also, the bizarrely convoluted back story for the ‘boys’ is embarrassing in its stupidity. Why am I still reading?!

Can you get whiplash whilst remaining very, very still? If no, then I might be patient zero. Literally nothing has happened (aside from a sprinkler kiss), yet the disparity between Faith’s inner monologue and what she actually does is making me sea sick. Also—the conversations are choppy as hell. Not sold yet…let’s hope the pace picks up.

How can one confuse the word clavicle for cervical? Editors. Also. “Since kid days, he bottled everything.” Kid days? You mean childhood, or perhaps ‘when we were kids’?

RIDICULOUS. Thea has been told that she is Cassius’ mate, she believes it, she lusts after him and constantly wants to be near him… then she’s taken to their room at Crimson (while with her Cerithian guards), and her first thought is ‘the drop isn’t far down, I could leave.’

I think the author suffers from the same memory loss Thea does.

This is the third, I repeat, THIRD time I have read the term ‘on accident’ — are we serious?! ICK

The reviews must’ve been paid, surely? I’m going to push on, but thus far my biggest pet peeve (aside from the cringey dialogue between the FMC and MMC), is the way the MMC’s words don’t match up to the fact that he’s never been to England before. ‘Sling your hook’ ??

Genuinely confused. Dialogue is written like a GSCE essay. Call 911? Mate? Rose is from London? The senator? And my personal favourite, ‘Jared has until next month, that’s six weeks.” WHAT? I think it’s supposed to be set in England, and if that’s the case… I’m not sure where the editor was.
