This show played a very important role in my life and the decisions I made as a late teen. I know I am 100% going to get emotional with this book.

I really enjoyed the way that they reconnected, but I feel like there maybe should have been a bit more anger towards each other…. Maybe I hold grudges too much

Quite a quick progression of relationship (understandable as we were over halfway through the novel before anything started developing). Very happy with the book and excited to finish the ending tonight!

Getting into the flow of the book now and I feel like I can’t put it down. Some cringe modern wording in there but still a really solid novel so far.

It’s nice to see a connection forming between the two main character, even if it’s incredibly frayed and strained. Ophelia is clearly struggling with growing up alone, unsure how to act when she does have some kind of attraction to somebody. It’s nice to see representation like that.

Such an intense chapter! You can really see the tension building between the two (and not the romantic kind). It's not been entirely discussed yet why Alex seems to hate Ophelia, but it's interesting to see through that hate he is offering to be her alibi. However, it could be argued that it also means that she can't accuse him too of the death of her roommate. Crazy!! I love this murder-mystery type plot already!!!

Again, really pleasantly surprised that this has such a heavy focus on developing the female main character. Also found out that the author is an aerospace engineer and British; super cool as my partner also works in the industry!! Regarding the book though, you can see some semblances of romance blossoming, but it is so small and gradual that it's barely noticeable. This isn't a criticism at all; I love this style!

I’ve recently strayed away from romance novels as I found they weren’t quite what I was looking for in a book. However, this novel in the opening chapters seems quite interesting. The romance doesn’t seem to be the forefront of the plot at the minute, which I appreciate as it gives room for Ophelia and Alex to develop as characters on their own, as opposed to only focusing on their relationship. Defo enjoying!!

I’m already getting the impression that Maya is Myam and that Daughter is Maya’s child from the people that assaulted her and abandoned her at the start of the novel. Amazing use of perspective with the fox in the first chapter, as well as descriptions in the book from Daughter and her clearly limited view of life. So much primal animal imagery. I love it already!

Started this book a good while ago, before my WOB order came in. I ended up dropping it to read another horror book. Happy to pick this back up again; the story interests me, and although I try my best not to read YA books much anymore, I'm finding the plot very alluring and interesting. I'm excited to see what comes next, although the twist does seem a little predictable, at least at this point in the book.

Wow. What a violent and triggering chapter. I struggled to read all of the details simply for the graphic way it is described, in which they assault her, and the way they talk about her, especially as she is estimated to be a young teenager at this point. Hard read, but so important to understand that this is how certain groups of men in that industry will treat teenage girls.

Again a great opening by David Sodergren. I'm extremely happy with how the characters are being built, the setting, and the tension between certain characters. It has the mystery that comes with old folklore, and I'm excited to see where it goes next!

After reading Maggie's Grave (which I plan on re-reading by the end of this year), I'm so excited to start this book. Already a strong character introduction with amazing descriptions of the general plot coming. Some good, gruesome descriptions. It's great!

If I'm being completely honest, this book is insufferable right now. I cannot finish it. I find it so painfully slow, and all of the small drips of interesting points that they add in every 4 chapters slowly become boring, and you end up forgetting them because the story moves so slowly. I've had to DNF this one, unfortunately. Maybe I'll come back to it once I've gotten back into the swing of reading again.

SO MANY CONTENT WARNING FOR THIS BOOK HOLY COW!!!! Covers so many intense topics just within the first 8 chapters, clearly with so many more intense topics to come. A super strong start, with beautiful language throughout so far. Amazing character building, although the setting could use some more attention. So excited to see where this goes.

I feel this entire chapter was so intense, so strong. So many things could have gone wrong, and I found myself on the edge of my seat while reading it. Gritting my teeth and hoping they would be okay. They’re just kids; they have no idea what they are doing. Their explosive interaction with Mothman had me terrified. What if they had drowned? What if they have drowned, and this is how they perceive the afterlife? Agh

This book is pulling at my heartstrings. So simply written, but so powerful. I love a queer YA romance story, but this one takes it to the next level. The grief is so intense and so desperate ♥️ I just want to hug Noah

First page of this book already had me in tears. 'Lewis said you were queer like us. If you're not, that's OK too. I just want to know you're there.'

Childhood grief is messing me up emotionally, PLUS a queer mc? I'm going to have a mental breakdown reading this, aren't I?

Had a trip to see my partner this weekend and got through the majority of the book on the train, but had to stop reading as there were some SPICY scenes and I was so embarrassed reading it in public !!!! Well-written romance with some good angst and hesitation in there. Also... a man begging? Yes, please, I will never complain about that. Just about to finish up what I assume is the grand finale spicy scene 0.0

Some tension built! Cute scene of being clumsy together 😳 very very excited to see how this contract between the two radio stations go….
