Very good so far. I love the historical analysis of various strategies employed by commanders throughout antiquity and the lessons learned, which can often be applied to many areas of life.

Argghhh... I'm getting really tired of listening to (audiobook) stupid people. Thankfully, the story is good enough and certainly well-written that I'm not going to put it down. There at least seems to always one character solid enough to lean hope on. The rest... starting to not care what happens to them. Authors need to chill on the stupid people for a little while, it's getting too prevalent.

Oh my gosh, this kid is aggravatingly petulant. To the point I almost want to stop the book. For an AI caretaker, I can't fathom how it has no concept of human/teen psychology to get Adam to understand that he's acting like an idiot. It's the equivalent of a parent saying, "because I said so" with no explanation.

The story itself seems generally good so far, but two things are very distracting: 1) the narrator makes most of the men sound like weak idiots. 2) the author got some major science points wrong. The whole story is about how a solar flare is worse than 2 back-to-back CMEs. What?

The country, and world, is going to hell as the infestation spreads. But... why the hell is a random Atlanta resident taking rediculously expensive pot-shots at airplanes landing with a "99 Callibre" rifle? Beck should really do a little research before writing something that dumb in the future.

I have to agree with many others on here. Not the best Ledger book, for sure. Still a fun read, but his introspection went a bit far this time. Also, the over-the-top TDS and social justice injections seemed like a forced virtue signal. If using real people, you have to stay realistic. Joe has never been racist, so why all of a sudden give him some "inherent white racism" in the least likely situation, saving lives?

Omg! The two characters (Robert in particular) who are supposed to be escorting their prisoner are the dumbest couple of apocalypse soldiers I can imagine. (Spoiler) You never let the prisoner go to the bathroom out of view, with no supervision at all, and then catch him trying to sabotage your mission, basically give him a "bad boy" dog chastisement, and then still let him go the bathroom. Even found a knife on him.
