the story goes absolutely nowhere…
There’s like 200pages of internal monologues that do not contribute to the story whatsoever, I mean these pages could have been used to actually develop the mother-daughter relationship and make the MMC fall for her. I mean I’m in the middle of a spicy scene and she has to tell him what to do?!!! WTF AIDEN GET IN THERE

This book has been SO much advertised as DARK ROMACE, that I honestly though it was heavy on the violent side of kinky - but oh my, the MMC is just obsessed and the FMC is unhinged - he’s soft just for her and she’s violent just for him, that’s not DARK ROMANCE, that’s just kinky and the spice scenes are not even slightly taboo!
With that said, I’m loving it!

Just because he now realizes she’s a nice person doesn’t excuse how even being the older “mature” one, he treated her very poorly

Half way trough the book and I don’t like the MMC, I know is enemies to lovers but she’s just hurt and he is actually mean, he keeps on taking about being 10 years older - all the dam time! - but, oh god, he is not mature or wiser because of it.
