The last 20 % is really dragging. I was enjoying this a lot but now we are in Italy at dinner and I do not know why.

Feeling like the description is a bit of an over sell

This is the saddest book I've read in a long time. Just crying here on my couch

I vowed I would never read another Kristin Hannah book in my life but BOTM gave this to me for free so the moral of the story is Clair has no standards for free books but if I hate this I told you all I would in advance and I was right (no surprise!). But if it's good then nevermind.

Starting to feel like this will never, ever end.

I was under the impression there would be more elephants. There is a serious lack of elephants so far.

This Emilio and Olivier storyline is tedious. I think there should be a rule for only having one will-they-wont-they in one book.

I have to keep reminding myself that the plot is intentional. For some unknown reason, these choices were made and I do not understand but I am so disconnected it's kind of funny.

Literally halfway through this and realized it's the prequel. I haven't read legends and lattes. Whoops.

So far I am not sure why Haymitch keeps referring to his girlfriend by her full name every time from a first person perspective. Did I never notice this in the other books? Did I block it out? I do not know why this is bothering me so much but there it is
