this just goes to show you that you can really love someone and still struggle. shane can compartmentalise his feelings about staying in the closet because he is less secure in himself/his abilities and still wants the validation from others. ilya seems to care less about those things and then struggles with staying in the closet, but had more difficulties prior to the relationship beginning

i havent re-read this series in about 10 years. am i re-reading it to read a canon compliant rewrite of the last 2 books? well yes! but so far my impression is that it's a lot funnier than i remembered. i also forgot how much different draco's introduction in the series is. he's the first wizard kid he meets other than hagrid.
