I love this devotional. I've read through it 4 times.

Sequel to The Unfinished Gift, this is a continued story of a little boy who suddenly loses his mother while his father serves overseas. Placed with a grumpy grandfather he's never known, he longs for his father's return.
Woven into the story is working through grief, extending forgiveness, and embracing grace, sacrifice of military families, dealing with prejudice, the impact of caring friends & neighbors thru grief

This story walks you through the pain and consequences of estrangement from old hurts, misunderstandings, and stubborn lack of grace.

This was a hard book to read, wondering what really happened and expecting the worst. As the main character visits a house left to him upon the death of the owner, he walks through painful memories of events that happened there when he and his brother were kids.
This author's writing gets better with every book.
