Very basic. Very dull. Very chauvinistic.

Prose is atrocious. I am rankled. Timeline jumping is too nonsensical for me. DNF.

Taste of Marrow was so much better. Almost everybody's behavior is more plausible. Houndstooth is still a complete tool, but this second novella at least acknowledges his childish demeanor.

Terrible prose. Everybody exudes a tough guy attitude but deep down they're all just big ole teddy bears. Page after page. And I did not feel for this relationship. They absolutely do not know enough about each other to have lasting feelings toward one another. They're still in the lust stage.

There's a joke repeated about ten times in these 133 pages. Stopped being funny after three. Grating. Lots of rolled eyes.

28% through. Incredibly boring. I feel the whole book is a setup for the climatic punchline.

12/7 finished Jericho Mosaic. terrible. nothing like the rest. entirely unnecessary. Whittemore just needed the world to know, 'like, war, man. why? amirite?'

11/10 finished Nile Shadows. Very boring, maddeningly incessant. Intentional, I know, but I've finally had enough. The beginning was amusing and the tail end was fine. Most of the middle was gluuuh.

10/18 finished Jerusalem Poker. Strong four stars. These novels are amazing. Lotsa talking.

9/29 finished Sinai Tapestry. Disorienting but maybe intentionally so because there are many characters and the story spans centuries and there's generations of peoples and sometimes they disappear for awhile. I had trouble keeping everybody straight.

But also, fantastic. It got better and better and the ending was phenomenal.

8/22 read Young Zaphod Plays It Safe. It was cute. The answer is Ronald Reagan.

8/21 Well, I read that one quickly. Completely torn about the fact that Adams' editor moved in with Adams to make sure he met the deadline for this book and the fact (read: opinion) that this is the best book in the trilogy. Very funny, very ridiculous, and so romantic.

8/20 started So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish

8/17 finished. This was easily the funniest so far, but also my least favorite. I can't comprehend why but luckily this anthology was, in my opinion, created to not be comprehended.

8/10 finished. Very good book. Top notch silliness.

8/7 began The Restaurant at the End of the Universe

8/4 finished. The pinnacle of silliness. Perhaps the birth of inanity. I can't be sure, I wasn't there.

8/1 started The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

6/6 Lady Susan was fantastic. A young Jane Austen at her snarkiest. And possibly darkest, what with all the talk of people being dead and people hopefully dying soon all in the name of that cake.

5/8 finished Persuasion. It was okay. I very much like Anne Elliot. Good person, that Anne.

5/1 Persuasion. Three chapters deep. Main characters met, one major plot point and hints of a conflict revealed. Jolly good. An handsome time awaits us.

4/20 finished Northanger Abbey. Terrible, silly, boring, and a ridiculous ending.
