When the preface asserts that you don’t have to understand the setting to enjoy the book, it feels like a bit of a red flag. And so far I’m enjoying it but I definitely don’t feel like I have a grasp on the setting 😂🚩

Really intriguing premise. A bit slow going in the middle portion so far. Also if clowns are not your thing you might want to skip this one!

This is my first Judy Blume book so don’t come for me but I’m a little disappointed how much sex is in this book?! Can a coming-of-age teenage girl story also focus on… not just boys?

Digging the Texas drama-thriller subgenre, this would pair so well with The Hunting Wives! Big stakes (dare I say big steaks as well?), big accents, big drama.

Haven’t read a summer camp thriller since Riley Sager’s “The Last Time I Lied,” similar vibes so far if you liked that one!
