Reading this alongside seeing the headlines and videos coming out of Minnesota is like 👀

I don’t even have a guess as to where this is all going, but I’m up WAY past my bedtime to find out

There’s really only four characters in focus to keep track of… so why does it feel like 15 characters 😅

The first 40-50 pages were pretty repetitive but it’s picking up now!

Ok great book so far but my climate anxiety is through the roof 😅🫠

Ok this went from a cheeky thriller to an all out horror story REAL quick. I wouldn’t recommend reading this while pregnant! I have regrets 😂

Maybe I’ll just forever be nostalgic for the Dear America series, but I love an epistolary format so, so much.

I don’t think I’ve described a book as a “page turner” in well over a year… but here we are, WAY past my bedtime, and I can’t be stopped. And it’s MOODY. Reminds me of Emma Cline’s most recent book.

This almost reads like a screenplay sometimes, a definite cinematic feel to the writing! Action packed too. I’m definitely invested and have no idea where this is going

I am trying SO hard to finish this before NYE because I want the timing to coincide with my plan to take the Christmas decor down. This is a new low (or high??) for being type A, even for me.

Took me about 100 pages to get into this one but now I’m intrigued!

So one woman was accused of being a witch because she was a midwife renowned for lessening pain during childbirth, which *checks notes* the elders of the town believed went “against god.” I CAN’T with these men, and today with the Tylenol stuff and the parallels I JUST CAN’T. Chuck them all into the bin

I’m learning a lot, and wanting to burn down the patriarchy too!

You get the impression early on that this is going to end with everything likely tying together in a profound way even though there are a million characters but I’m along for the ride!

So far a fun blend of humor and horror!

Still waiting for the horror to kick in??

No one makes me deeply laugh, and deeply think, like George Saunders.

It’s definitely “vibey” but I’m hoping things get a bit deeper soon

Absolutely brutal read if you have daughters, but I was hooked from the jump on this one and now I’m flying through it! Some seriously sus behavior happening

Oh my gosh I’m only a little over a quarter of the way through and this book has SO much heart to it already

I truly have no idea where this is going or what the plot really is, I’m basically just living beside these characters at this point but I’m enjoying the ride! And lord mental healthcare after WWII was trash

I’m sucked in! I’ve read a lot of post-apocalyptic fiction but I’ve never read anything quite like this.

Took me a minute to get into this one, but started to pick up around 100 pages. Braithwaite uses the same short chapter structure as her first novel which certainly moves things along

I don’t want it to end! It’s like a feminist rage love letter to Daphne du Maurier
