So spooky strange. With ZERO knowledge or forethought about either book. My previous book was the James Patterson True Crime Series about Gypsy Rose. Then I went into this book with ZERO background. Didn’t even read the blurb. Just saw Tarryn recommended so I downloaded. Having a super freaky moment here. I think I’ve jinxed myself though because I know the “true” story and keep expecting this one to follow it.

I really don’t care for this book so far. I swear it felt like it took 2 hours of reading for the preliminary search of the girl in the Pink Floyd tshirt. I do not like the MC. I HATE the dopey voice the narrator uses for the boyfriend. I’m putting a pin in this one for now. I probably won’t come back to it.

Needing these laughs and poignancy dough these days. So grateful as always David Sedaris delivers. Jesse, the snapping turtle and tumor alone are making my stomach hurt from laughing.

There’s nothing better than falling in love with a book that is in a genre you really don’t like. I’m besotted both this book & by authors who can do this!!!

If any of you have ever listened to Criminalize Podcast you know how Phoebe Judge’s voice and cadence just pulls you into rapt attention and happiness. Well my worlds collided. Phoebe started a new podcast called “Phoebe Reads a Mystery” where she reads a chapter a day of the designated book (W/OUT ADS!!!). She’s reading one of my all time faves! I’m in reading heaven!!

So far I HATE it, but I’m trying to give the author the benefit of the doubt. The racial hatred is making me sick. I’m not sure how much more I can stomach.

I’m pretty bored so far. I’m listening to the library’s copy and I believe the audiobook was narrated by someone different than the more modern versions of the Harry Bosch books on audible.

Wwwwhhhhaaaaaaaaaaa. So bummed about the narrator choice! Her voice is quite nasally and whinny. I’m think I should 86 the audio and save this one til I’m cleared to read again :(

I'm not sure why I didn't read the reviews before starting this one :(. Oh well hanging in there due to road trip.

Felt too much like I was missing backstory. Searched these authors works and found it is a spin off from Him. Which I read in 2015- but didn't remember the full story. So paused Good Boy to re-read Him.

But I can say the Hero in Good Boy may not be my cup of tea. I'm not sure how he can go from "Stiffler" to Sweet Sexy Stud?? Hoping I'm wrong though!!

Already hooked. Loving it so far.

This audiobook narrator is great!

I do not recognize this Miko from books 1 & 2. She's such an insecure doormat in her own book. No badass pixie :(

I'm having trouble liking either character thus far. Hoping for redemption.

Much lighter than I expected with the subject matter. Funny even.

Any Sandra Brown recommendations to a new to her reader? Preferably with a sweet love story under the mystery.

I don't think I've ever been this intrigued by a book I hate. The heroine is innocent and endearing yet cheats on her boyfriend, decides to snort heroin like it's as harmless as a lemon drop shot, fails her college courses, doesn't blink an eye when people are brutally murdered in her presence. WhO is in my brain and where did my normal dnf-ing self go??
