This is such a hard book to read. Not because of the writing or any plot points, but because the heroine shares her name with my cat
which makes for some very... interesting reading, lol.I can’t stop laughing at the most random stuff! Like the hero just called her “my Mila”...I literally say this to my cat all the time! Lol this is such a fun read for all the wrong reasons!

On the plus side, after what feels like forever, I finally found a book that kept me invested in it. The down side though, is that im almost done with it!

I really shouldn't have started this right after finishing the first book... it's still cute, but the characters feel more flat... gonna take a break and read something else for a bit... hopefully when I pick it up again, I'll be able to enjoy it :)

Dammit. Ms. Proby just committed one of my biggest pet peeves...and I'm trying really hard not to let it give me an excuse to put this down over something I know is petty....but it bugs me so freaking much! The word is DISDAIN ....not distain. ( autocorrect fixed it 3 times! How do you still get it wrong when autocorrect won't even let you type it!)....sigh.

to the back burner this goes...the Insta-lust/love was an unpleasant surprise. I know this isn't NS's usual genre, so I shouldn't expect it to read the same as her PNR's and UF, but still...in the first couple pages, they meet and the H starts chasing the heroine....I think I'd have preferred more build up....Since it is Nalini Singh, instead of dnf-ing, i'm going to put it down for a while, try again later.

Dammit, dammit, dammit, why do I have to have a conscience? I really just want to call off all my responsibilities today and just get back under the covers and keep reading!

Saw this on my update feed, then saw all the glows reviews so I thought I'd give it a chance.i can't seem to put it down, but I'm not sure if I like it yet... But the hero is growing on me :)

Other than telling us the heroine was in an abusive relationship, there's little backstory....which in this case makes it hard for me to care about their story. Off to the back burner it goes, and maybe I'll pick it up again later.

Maybe I'm just not in the right frame of mind for this one, because a fourth of the way in, and all I am is bored.

I don't like the characters. And i'm not feeling the story. Pretty sure this will be a DNF.

I don't like the heroine. She seems more judge-y and cold, than I'm used to. And this looks to be a loooong book....not sure if i can, or even want to, put up with her for that long. So this is on the back burner for a bit, and I might try again later.

Too many characters...If it just followed Gaia and Cade (the mc's) it'd be fine, but it also follows a few other characters, that i just don't like. Plus stuff seems to be thrown in almost at random....I figure I'll finish this one, but I don't think I'll pick up the next (if there is a next one).

It's okay, but i really wish we'd get the Hero's point of view...or at least some of his back story....at the moment, I'm a teeny bit bored.

I think this is going to have to go on the DNF shelf. I really just don't like the heroine. Or the Hero for that matter...and i can't bring myself to care about their HEA...maybe i'll give it a couple weeks, and try again, but for now, i'm moving on to something else.

I wish the book synopsis would've mentioned the heroine interest in New Agey stuff....a third of the way into the book, and so far I'm not liking either character, so there's a good chance I'm going to switch to something else.

I feel like i missed something...How'd they go from just meeting, to solving a murder, to wanting to hit the sheets together?

not sure how i missed the disclaimer, but it wasn't til i got to chapter 15 that i realized this ends in a cliffhanger.

Because this one is all from the heroines pov ( grrr) i don't mind putting it aside.

The next book, i think, is all from the hero's pov, so I'll probably skim the rest of this, and give that one a shot.

pretty sure i loved the first book in this series, but for some reason I'm not feeling this one...I'll give it a few weeks, and try again laters.

Dude. 26% ( that's over a quarter of the book!) and the H and h STILL haven't met yet! Can you say aggravating?! Pretty sure they're going to meet any minute now, but I'm getting to that 'I don't even care' point, so I'm not sure if I'll even make it that far.

this book has been dragging off and on, for the last 15-20% of the book, so me thinks its time for a break.

7% into this and I've had enough. I'm probably not giving it enough of a chance, ( haven't even met "Blaine" yet) but this heroine is all kinds of unlikable IMO. However, If that irritating voice in the back of my head has its' way, I'll probably give this another try.....eventually.

Started this a week ( ish) ago....and so far, this is the farthest I've ever made into a Leah Brooke book....yay?

Another book I started a few weeks ago but still haven't managed to finish...I haven't dnf'ed it though...So that's a good sign, right?

Started this 2 weeks ago, and still haven't made it to the end! Having the hardest time getting through it....as the casebook of Barnaby, I knew I'd be getting his and maybe Stokes pov, but there's too much from their wives, dammit! They had their book, they shouldn't be so all over the place in this one! Plus IMO, it's reading more like a parenting guidebook, rather than a full out mystery ...can you say grrrr?

I've put it aside once already, and it's still not for me...I know where it's going, and I don't like either character ( ESP the h! She cries and gets hurt feelings at every damn thing because of course everything is about her) so again, I DO NOT HAVE TO FINISH THIS! stfu, stupid conscience!

Crossing my fingers that this will be the book that will finally grab my attention and help me get over my slump :)

This is a bit more...disturbing than I'd anticipated....I'm taking a break ( my second one) but I think Im going to be too curious to leave it unfinished.
