Tweety is starting The Dedicated Villain (The Golden Chronicles, #6)
It's a nice feeling when one of your favorite author's dedicates one of their books to another of your favorite authors. In this case The Dedicated Villian is dedicated to Jeffery Farnol. I have a feeling this will be good!

(I'm reading a different edition, so this is one of the last pages) "My other concern-" Mr. Treslian stoped and searched her face. " Tell me to go boil my head if you like. Ah, I'm sorry" he said as she was silent. "I had better go and preform that unlikely culinary operation."

It's strange to me, that Lorna Doone is his best known work, his others seem pretty top notch to me! I'm really enjoying this one, and the illustrations are a big plus!

Some men there are whom it is a pleasure to observe at their daily work. I have heard my grandfather say, when he was a boy, one man could do more work in a day than is now to be got out of three. And the cause he assigned for this, was the wild cram and pressure of pugnacious education. "the more a jug gurgles, the less it pours," he said.

The dust jacket artist does a nice job, except that for all six books it looks like these same two characters and the hero does not look remotely Chinese. He looks more the Scarlet Pimpernel, extremely English. Lol!

Koda Dad said gently:"That I understand. Do not try to be both at the one time. Who knows? On top of Mount Baker in a hut they found the Duke's calling card, and after taking a picture they left a record of their expedition and five and a half tablets of solid Meta fuel with a Kodak autographic pencil. They also left a cake of Palmolive soap for the next explorers.

When the aneroid fell, it had fallen face upward in the deep snow narrowly missing a large rock. The only effect of the fall was instead of registering the actual fall from Oliver's pocket, say, three feet, the sensitive instrument registered a fall of six thousand feet. No doubt it felt as if it had fallen six thousand feet and registered its feelings accordingly.
